Idea: cooperative map

Here's an idea. how about a map which stresses cooperative gameplay? Is there any way to create a a map which would be like Settlers of Cataan, ie a game where you can win by having the most income , resource pairs, etc etc, maybe after a certain finite time period, but don't have to destroy other players to win? Just curious about this. I'm thinking that maybe things like resource pairs from the "Age of realms" map could indicate some way for players to create their own territory and acquire points, money, or some other resource, which might allow the game to produce a winner without actual need to kill players (unless one chose to.)

my main reason for suggesting this is I've played a number of games where discussions with other players about the game course was one of the most enjoyable aspects of gameplay. please feel free to write any feedback. (try to avoid the obvious jokes about how this idea isn't bloodthirsty enough.):-D :-D

There are already several maps where you don't need to kill anyone to win. Oasis, Third crusade, Feudal (although rare in that map), Route 66...

well, i understand that. However, I was just wondering if there's any way to have a game where the gameplay itself is somewhat cooperative, with players carrying out social processes like resource-gathering. maybe it's not really that suitable for this game too much, but it's just a thought.

However, I was thinking of games like Civony or Evony on the web, or the game Civilization, where players can co-exist during the game. makes for interesting interactions between players. also, might give this site a very long-term appeal for a whole new audience, as well.

The problem here is that every game must, on termination, have a winner and 1-7 losers, where the former take points from the latter. Conquer Club's basic structure is inimical to anything like peaceful coexistence.

Unless you play team games.

Yes, but you can't make a map for team games only... (for some reason)

That's certainly cooperation, but it's not peaceful coexistence. There's going to be a losing faction, and at the point that there is, the game is over. So there is always an enemy and there's never incentive for there to be otherwise.

Hey guys, and what about this: I was thinking:
And If we add a new gameplay option:
-1 for every touch on the assault button. This would almost obligate the player to hold on place until it's enough to atack. And what's better: it can be an optional to all maps.

Or make it so the defender had 3 dice also.

Just play no spoils games. Those usually take forever because no one wants to be first to attack.
