I was just trying to do something with a little depth perspective. Redbaron suggested fractals earlier, so I started working from fractals (julia & mandelbrot) then overlapping them, twisting, distorting, texturing them on a cylinder, etc etc. and those are what I ended up with.
Well, if they don't work, then I guess that's that and it was worth a shot, I'll see if I can come up with something better.

That sound right; anything that could display depth could only help. Right now it is just all in your face, I see a bunch of criss-crossed lines not a 3D box.
