i don't think so...only way is to get copyright permission to use the names and some of the designs etc. That could be an issue for this site, as this site is classed as a "commercial" site. I guess there would be copyright fees to be paid. I am not sure what your laws are in the USA.

Maybe if you called something else and changed all the stuff that would have copyright on it by a sufficient amount.... Maybe calling it planet wars or something daft like that :D ..... does anyone know someone who works in lore who plays here???

than you can also call it Starr Wars, it keep it's name, only added some letters...you can always go around copyright...

i have a question, why is this stickyed? it shoudn't be stickyed, it should be like all the other maps.

i beleave that this is abusing your powers and that it needs to be unstickyed and in the map ideas with all the other maps.

If you read the Original Post, you'll see why it's stickied (admittedly by a mod who's no longer here ...).

In point of fact, it should be deleted/trimmed, leaving behind only the first post (complete with quote of the copyright statement). Then it could be locked and renamed: "ALL Star Wars/Star Trek maps will be REJECTED due to Copyright Issues"

I agree that this is no more than a dicsussion of maps that can never be made. But if you lock it then people will keep creating new threads, so we may as well leave it open for anybody who finds it necessary to dream of a SW map.

there is no way to go AROUND the copyright, so why not go through it? why not just ask them for permission?
