Don't give up! You have promising skills, they just need some development. If you just apply yourself and work hard, I'm sure you can succeed in getting this map in play.

There have been many suggestions given that have nothing to do with the font. Why not address those?

Why is this map still in the drafting room?

This looks far better than any other map in here. Hell, it looks better than a few of our maps in play right now. Why did it never receive a draft stamp in 4 months? I'm just wondering.

How about read the thread? There's only like 4 pages of it.

On that note, even if this were the "best looking map in the drafting room", that would not be a reason to move the map away from the drafting room - the drafting room is not a contest where the winner is awarded a draft stamp... Draft stamps should be given to maps when they are deemed to be of sufficient quality to be moved to the main foundry, and this map does not qualify as it is now.

Then again, that's all pretty much irrelevant if there's no one to enforce those ideals and encourage new mapmakers... oh well.

I read the thread. What's with the hostility? I was just asking a question...

And I didn't say anything about a contest. I just said it's the best looking one in here. I thought the purpose of the drafting room was to get your map into a working draft. Then, once it's a draft, you receive your draft stamp. Then you move on to the Main Foundry.

Is that not how it works? Because this map looks to meet all the requirements of a working draft... Why doesn't it qualify as being of sufficient quality? I understand looks are subjective, but honestly, this looks better than some of the maps we have in play (like Northwest Passage), in my opinion.

I suppose you are correct though, it really doesn't matter. Especially since the mapmaker gave up on it.

Edit: And actually, it's not the best looking map in here. I think that would go to the Mississippi Map. Still, I would have thought this reached the level of quality that would be worthy of a move into the Main Foundry. I guess I'm wrong though.

No. Being a working draft only allows your map to be in the drafting room, as opposed to the melting pot/map ideas forum.

The quality of maps made in the past is irrelevant to the standards required of maps currently.

Ah. Misunderstanding on my part, then.

I understand that. Just seems odd that one map would make it all the way through the foundry looking like that, when one that looks like this sits in the Drafting Room. No biggie, though. I was just curious about it. Thanks for the responses.

I don't think it's necessary to include the bonus names on the map itself. It only serves to clutter up the map. The bonus names could be displayed in the legend either listed on the side or in the mini map. The frame looks little bland as well. Try to add some texture to the water as well. Just a few tips :). What natty said, don't give up :)!

It would appear that development of this map has stalled. If the mapmaker wants to continue with the map, then one of the Foundry Moderators will be able to help put the thread back into the Foundry system, after an update has been made. ;-)
