Le Tour de France map

Postby hushovd on Sat Mar 26, 2011 1:40 am

Hi guys,

just found the forum and i see now were all those nice maps come from.

Maybe time is short but in a few months on of the biggest and oldest ( not the oldest ) sport events is starting again in France...Le Tour.

A map with start and finish places, bonusses if held a shirt ( yersey??) , green for holding a few sprint finish places, red dot yersey if held some finish places in the mountains, etc...There can be bonusses underway too.

The build up can be like the american highway maps .

Maybe ( with help ive never done this before ) i can help with the layout?

There's the issue of copyright... so if you make the map you need to call it something other than "Le Tour".

It's not a bad idea though. It could be a decent map, if executed properly. How about drawing a simple draft, even in MS paint if you can't operate any heavy graphics machinery?

"Le Tour" is not copyrighted. It's "Le Tour de France" as a whole that would be copyright. Other than that, you can call it "Le Tour de Conquer" or something similar. We have a cycling event called "Le Tour de PEI" in my province, and there's not copyright issues ;-)

You need to make an account in some file service such as photobucket. Then you use the [bigimg] tag to insert your image into the post you make here. The magic of the internet will take care of the rest if you use the right URL in the tag ('Direct link' in photobucket).

Yes, I think we can work it out - but realize that really means that you will be working it out ;)
