Proportional Earth

Postby Victor Sullivan on Fri Jan 14, 2011 11:36 pm

I'm kinda full-up with my Foundry maps, but I thought I'd throw this out there anyways:

Proportional Earth

Basically, a map of the world, but the countries wouldn't be split up and they would have a neutral count on them, proportional to their population, then each country would have an auto-deploy proportional to its population as well. I'd have starting positions and whatnot. This would be a conquest map. Thoughts? I certainly want to do this in the future if there's support.

I'm not to sure about this idea, since there are already two world maps. And although the game play would be different, imo it would seem to be just the same old map. Maybe a large, well known, and divided city would be better. (Hong Kong?)

world maps are pretty much my favorite maps, so I like this idea.
i see room in conquer club for the classic, world 2.1, your map and hopefully someday a world 3.1 and then maybe even a world map with every single country on it (even though most would say thats impossible).

so, don't let me get ahead of myself, but you should go for this. i would play it frequently.

...I think it's rather obvious... Anyways, that's not really what I had in mind. It more focuses on the neutrals paralleling populations, than the bonuses.

It's essentially Classic times 10, in troop count. The small gameplay features the added would unbalance the game a bit, and it largely would be the same experience, anyways. They didn't even adjust the bonuses for the continents, it's just Classic times 10, like I said. They could have balanced things out more by making South America yield a bit higher of a bonus, since it has twice the borders Australia does. Ultimately, it seems like a lazy attempt, gameplay-wise, though the graphics are decent.

I think before moving on, you'll need to consider which countries would have autodeploy on them. At first I thought you were gonna have a large proportion of the territories being autodeploys...
