I'm having a hard time reading the territory names. Can you increase the spacing of the letters please?

I'm in favor of changing the font altogether or at least dropping the outline. Use a white font with black dropshadow instead.

Also... you gotta move the passable/impassable off the sun's face, it looks like he's giving me a raspberry

I'm sorry, that font color doesn't work. The problem is you have light colors so you need to use a dark color for the font. I prefer black, so give it a try ;)

The blue version needs:

1. Can you make it in a diferent color? Blue is mostly used in all maps as sea. maybe something brown.

2. A better river design
3. A clear mountain design

1. It used to be green, but it is now blue by request from IH and I think it looks quite good.
2. Rivers can be redone, what do you suggest?
3. The line is there to make it clearer until I can design new ones. The old style of mountains can be seen in some of the older versions.

I know, blue seems good. I'm just sugesting that brown can be better.

For the rivers is simple: Cut the river layer and use the same sea texture for them. If you're using photoshop, instead of using cloud efect, try going on filter galery/waterpaper

Change the shadow efect by 10% less in opacity

make the territory names bigger. or in bold

The rivers arent actually there, I just deleted some of the borders and fill layers so you can see the sea underneath.

Indeed. The Falklands is not part of Argentina and should thus not be in a map named "Argentina". I don't see why CC maps should be used to make a political point, touvh upon border dispute issues etc. Doing that, well, it would just go downhill from there. Factual correct is just the way to go I think.

I know that it isnt part of Argentina, and thats why it has no bonus. It also relieves the bottle neck in Patagonia. I have thought quite a lot about it, and I think that it adds to the map instead of detracting from it.

Then the map name ought to be changed (e.g. like what was done with the China-map), don't think there are any reasons to imply anything not true in the map/map name etc. or change the name to "The Falkland Islands (the U.K.)".

I dont think there's any need to change the title. I dont suppose anyones going to disappointed with the map after playing because it contained something that the title didnt mention. As for China, it had a small change to Greater China. Argentina and the Faulkland Islands is a bit too long imo

There was a beautiful draft of an Argentina map a while back ( viewtopic.php?f=242&t=80755 ), but it looks like it's currently dead, although it may be worth having a look through that thread to see the sort of comments people made.

In terms of your design brief, small maps of countries don;t tend to be well received or overly popular, and where possible I;d suggest trying to increase your territory count. I'll also repeat a comment I made in the previous Argentina thread:

Subject: Argentina >> (VACATION)
MrBenn wrote:I was just looking at the Argentine Tourist Board website, and I noticed that each region has it's own shield/coat of arms - could you incorporate them somehow? They might seem more suitable than the Brazil flag?

The tourist board region guides seemed to include some of the 'territories' within two regions... I wonder if you could do something similar here?? It would help differentiate the gameplay a little bit more?

In addition to the unique area, something like this might help to differentiate the gameplay from other small maps?

For now, I propose leaving the map in the melting pot; once you have picked up a little more support, and have a clearer idea of the gameplay and graphical direction you wish to take, feel free to submit another design brief ;-)
