Yep, Gibson in '68. Year before the mound was raised ā€” there was too much pitching dominance (that was the year that the Tigers' Denny McLain won the MVP with 31 Ws). His ERA was 1.12 :shock:

Yup, Carl Yastrzemski (sox fans take a class in spelling his name ;) ) won the batting title with a whopping .301 that year.

No, we're not related as far as I know. I saw it on a show about the greatest Red Sox of all time and its just stuck with me.
