Re: Football Game. FA Cup tonight.

Tonight sees the final of the FA Cup where Red Stick Cajuns will be hoping to cap off an eventful season with a win over Emo United. RSC cam second in the league on goal difference and will be hoping to avenge their loss against Emo United on the last day of the season and win the cup. Emo united striker Fernando Torres had this to say: "I think it will be a very even match, we have shown that we can beat them and will be looking for another win." When questioned on the possibility if not being at Emo United next season he responded in an upbeat manner saying: "The manager has to choose the best men for the team. I hope I am one of them but I will give it my best whatever happens."

Tune in tonight to watch the action unfold

This is a preview of what to expect next season. There will be post match interviews and game build up.

Everyone keeps 3 of their players and chooses 2 new players.

The two new players are picked in order of your final league position. i.e. ice chooses first then lsu and so on to amino.

Then everyone is given 11 more players that average out to be the same and given 750 points to spend to spruce up their team.

I don't wanna moan (ok fine I enjoy it :D )but LSU is gonna potentially have 2 footballing gods from the start then and that would make him pretty unstoppable..

There only are 2 footballing God and Im sure Messi wont be given up.

we paid for them this season. I spent all my original budget on ronaldo and had to pay way above what was originally going to cost for him as such I earned him in a fa manner.

Where you paid for one footballing god, I paid for two world class. And If you get footballing god and then 3 world class while I only get 4 world class, you already have an advantage.

The choosing two sounds cool but I don't want to make a huge rift between 1 and 8 and keep a level playing field

The world classes were bid up quite a lot at the beginning of the season too.. anyway if you did pay over the odds for him why should we be punished for our more shrewd buying!

How about instead of a number of players we get from our old team, which could benefit teams with exceptionally good team you could get a number of points to buy on your own team. And no-one can bid for people on your team.

I.e we could get 1500 points to spend on people from your team. You could buy 3 world class people, or a footballing god, a world class and a very good, or 3 excellents and a very good.

Hmm don't know. How about you just keep your old teams and I give you a bunch of crap players but good money to do it up? And I could maybe introduce improving young players, aging and retirements?

FA Cup final about to kick off.

I would honestly just prefer completely new teams. But if people don't want that Illy and pmc's latest suggestions both sound good

I personally have two qualms with having the same team:
1) The rift. The people who were near last performed badly partly because of poor training but partly because of buying up the wrong people and other bad deals. It was our first time playing that game, so if people made newbie mistakes we should not continually punish them for it. I like my team quite greatly but I would like for everyone to start on a relatively clean slate so everyone has a good chance of winning.

2) I understand that we took time to build the teams, but I found the team-building, all the auctioning and bidding and trading, quite fun. I would prefer either to start from scratch or have that points to spend on your own team idea.

OK i tell you what, I will give evreyone new teams with the same average ability but you can choose to keep up to 3 players from your old squad. This way you can keep some of your players but still your overall squad ability will be the same.

I would like that except with the points things, so the two teams with footballing gods don't get advantages

No we arne't you don't understand. You pick say 3 players but if you pick a footballing god then the players I assign you will be worse than the players someone would get with three world class players. So it all balances out, the players are just for sentimental value really your starting again.

It doesn't though.. if we get two good players upgraded to very good for example it's not gonna make up the difference between a world class and footballing god striker.

Fair point, how about the worth of the teams is averaged out as well as the ability?

I would just prefer say spenind 1500 points on players from your team, getting an average team and perhaps then getting a bit of money to bargain with. Actually it would be interesting if we got little to no money meaning we could only trade players with other teams if we wanted to optimise teams

Yeah but if you sell your 2 very good you will get 400 (or more if you trade) other person would get 300 for the same sales (and is less likely to get a trade with a good player). Then you can get an excellent and he can only get a very good. It balances out roughly.

If I assign you any more than 2 players then of course their will be some unfairness no matter how I pick them unless you get players with exactly the same age and ability. This is just as fair as wholy assigned new teams IMO, look at how amino reacted to his team.

Very good to excellent isn't the same as world class to footballing god though. I know there's always gonna be some unfairness but that's random.. this way just gives lozz and LSU an advantage from the start. Not to mention the actual buying value of messi/ronaldo is alot higher due to their uniqueness (is that a word ?)

If you argue uniqeness then I could say that its much easier to sell excellents than very goods, helping you to upgrade easier. And at the end of the day if one person has a FG and a VG then that it has virtually no advantage over WC and EX in terms of the program. And im introducing player form and fitness, what if your FG goes on a bad run? Or when he gets tired they would have say 2 VG's up front where as you would have 1 VG and 1 EX.
