It's a silly thing to argue about, but fun. And I do think I am in the right, though I don't think it matters if someone "wins" the game.
Probably we should start again, though. The game will prove awkward to continue from where it's got to anyway i think.
But I am right. If you want to say something, and there's no pre-existing word, but the etymology of the new one is obvious, then a neologism is OK. Nobody would suggest that "telephone" (sound-at-a-distance) or "television"(sight-at-a-distance) are not words, just because they weren't in a dictionary until they were invented.
And when the invasion of the yunnanosaurids begins, we won't have time to fart about inventing new words. We'll be too yunnanosauridophobic to think straight.
"Run! Here come the yunnanosaurids!"
"Oh, don't you think you're over-reacting? I'm sure they're not as terrible as all that. I'm sure there should be a word for your condition... wait, what's that coming down the street? AAAARGGHHH!!!! It's horrible! It's huge! RUN! THE YUNNANOSAURIDS ARE COMING!"
Oh and wercool, yes, do you have a neologism?
