I like Ditocoaf's suggestion: the person with the least total Energy Points left 'loses the endspurt'. If that total is also equal (for instance, in the first round), just have multiple people lose that round. The game might be over a bit quicker than anticipated that way, but it's the fairest way to go about these things IMO.

This isn't quite my idea; mine was based simply on who got the most rest the previous night; but this one makes a lot of sense too, and is probably easier to explain (whoever still has the most total points wins the tie (S_L's sug), rather than the confusing, whoever spent the least the previous day wins the tie (my sug)).

I like Sierra_Leon's idea of having the number of Energy Points be the number of people multiplied by a certain number. However, instead of 10, i'm thinking 100. That way theres more room for variability and less chance that two people will decide to use the same amount.

I'm still unsure about the tie-breaker, both dito and sierra have good ideas.

how many Checkpoints will there be right now?

I think the tie breaker should be a vote, the two lasts can't vote, but everyone else votes who they want to keep, after the majority is reached, the person with the most voted stays

Checkpoints = number of players.

I think the whole "whoever got most rest last night" thing someone suggested earlier is the best idea.

As for energy points, 10 per checkpoint?

If we do a small scale there would be too many ties...I think 100 or 1000 is better...

Clive is right. Like I said before, I've decided to use the # of people * 100 to figure out how many Energy Points there should be.

I've also decided to use the "whoever made it to the previous check point first" method in order to decide ties.

So, now that the rules have been figured out, we just have to wait for any more potential players, and then i'll start the game thread.

Just a suggestion: I think it would add an extra twist and a bit more strategy to the game, if whoever gets to the checkpoint first gets a bonus amount of energy points...

Just using 1000 Energy points as a scale,

Maybe something like:
1st to checkpoint: Bonus of 30 points
2nd to checkpoint: Bonus of 20 points
3rd to checkpoint: Bonus of 10 points

That would give an extra incentive to get there first.

Just a thought, since it seems it would be pretty simple to implement.

Yeah, but the point is, that if you got first to the checkpoint, that was a waste of energy.

Yeah, but finishing first also means that you have more time to rest before the next leg = more energy points for the next day. Besides, the incentive right now is to finish 2nd to last. If there is a reward for finishing in the top 3, the incentive changes to finishing first whilst spending a low number of energy points at the same time.

I have a question, what if someone runs out of energy points?

I think it's better to have the incentive be second-to-last. It's more interesting to have the ideal just barely above the worst spot-- kind of like in 21, where the closer to 21 you are, the better, but one over and you're dead. Setting 1st as an ideal goal isn't as good, because then if you're a little bit off, it doesn't matter.

Then they have none to use the next day, so will lose. They worked themself to death, so they can't go on. Not a good idea.

Well, it'll be interesting to see what riggable decides. Still, putting a reward for the 1st 3 at each checkpoint would change the strategy drastically; either for better or for worse. ;)

Skoffin, of course your in.

As to the suggestion about giving the incentive to the top three finishers:
As with all my games, my battle royale, this one, and my Drug Wars game coming up in the future, The point and hope of what I do is to spread these games to the conquerclub community. Mafia is good and all that, but there should be more than just that in the forum games section.
What I mean to say is, Feel free(in fact I encourage you) to take this game and host your own one, using your own set of rules. Twist 'em up as much as you like, and see how they play out.
There was about 4 or 5 battle royale games that took place after I started mine, I'm hoping that the same happens with this game. Unlike Battle Royale, though, I'm not expecting lots of work to moderate this game.

Game starts tommorow when i get home from school. Best of luck to all!

ps. If you ask to sign up before the game starts, of course i'll let you in.
