Final Fantasy VII Mafia - Shinra Corporation and Elena win

Postby Rodion on Sat Jun 04, 2011 11:33 pm

Rules were copied from Terminator Mafia and slightly altered.

1. This game is moderated by me (Rodion), I am the law. Whatever I say goes. If I make a mistake, I’ll do my best to fix it. All roles will be given out randomly.

2. Do not quote any PMs you receive from the Mod. The only things you may post (loosely paraphrasing) are your roles (and anything associated with them), and alignment, during the active game. Once the game has concluded, feel free to post the rest of your personal information. You may not post your win condition, how many words are in your role PM, or any other kind of way to get around not quoting PMs.

3. If you forget your role, or you delete it, that is your own fault. I suggest not doing either.

4. All ‘votes’ and ‘unvotes’ must be in bold and/or colour. If they are not, they will not be tallied. (I.E. Vote: Saviour Sephiroth) If you vote two or more times consecutively without an unvote in between them, then the first vote will be the one that gets tallied.

5. Lynching requires a majority of the town vote, and once the majority has been reached any and all unvotes will not be counted.

6. Once your death scene has been posted, you are dead. You can no longer post anything revealing or of substance. Whining is alright, voices from beyond the graveare alright, as long as nothing of substance is revealed.

7. The game will not be discussed outside this thread, unless your role specifically says you may do so.

8. Do not edit/delete previous posts. Whatever you say goes into historical record.

9. Joking in the thread is fine, but don’t let it get carried away and take over as spam.

10. Be attentive and active in the game. If I see you are not posting at all, I will prod all those who are inactive. If there is no timely response, you will be replaced.

11. Each game ‘day’ will not have a deadline unless activity decreases. I will remind everyone if the deadline is near, and to look toward voting. If no majority is reached at the end of the deadline, a ‘no lynch’ will be forced. Or not.

12. Similarly, each game ‘night’ will not last more than 72 hours. I will remind all those who have night choices when the deadline is near. If at the end of the deadline I have not received your night choice, you will have lost your choice action (I.E. for mafia, there would be a ‘no kill’, etc).

13. If you have any questions about whether you should or shouldn’t do something, or just need some clarification, feel free to PM me.

14. As far as NA mechanics, this is the order that will govern my games (and this doesn't necessarily mean all those powers are present here).

a) roleblocking the bus driver
b) bus driving
c) roleblocking
d) most powers (investigations, protections etc)
e) recruitments
f) kills

Powers that are too weird to be defined may end anywhere along the line. No guarantees.

15. Have fun!

We're still hammering out the details of setup, but it's looking pretty well balanced so far.

Copying my mod rules which I copied from PCM eh? I approve. :)

Rodion - a quick question. Assuming from the title, it's only the original characters from FF VII and there won't be any characters from the expanded universe? (Zack et alii)

Well, Zack appears in the videogame (flashbacks), so I wouldn't rule him out. I'm also considering providing mafia with fake claims, so I'd have to use both the game and the movie (Advent Children) to expand characters (pretty much like was done in Terminator mafia, the same character could exist twice: one from the game and one from the movie).

I don't plan on including Before Crisis, Crisis Core and Dirge of Cerberus.

Fair enough. Out of all video game heroes that I know off, Zack is definitely one of the best, if not the best one I have encountered.

Wow Final Fantasy!!! I love FF. Oddly though, i've never watched the movie or played much of the video games. I just love the soundtracks, and all the piano music. Trying to teach myself how to play J-E-N-O-V-A-H and Cosmo Canyon. Hard as heck.

But that is enough to convince me to play. So in :)

I know absolutely nothing about the FF series. Had a roommate obsessed with the games and stories, but never got into it myself. So, I'll play as long as knowing jack crap about it isn't an issue...lol

What do you suggest?

I can make it a smaller game so it starts faster.

It could help if you already have a smaller balanced set up worked out. I'm kind of going through right now to see what may need to be archived and this game hadn't been updated in a while.

I could try to tone it down to less players, but I think this game requires a high number of participants. Can the thread continue to exist until I reach all necessary players?

I'll make a new topic for a new mafia game I already have balanced.
