How is it that Skittles is in this game without posting in the sign up thread?...and has a grand total of 3 posts.

Hi everybody,

One of the semi new players here. This is my fourth game.

Since there isn't much to go on, I'm going to refrain from voting for now. I'm tempted to try out the random vote, but I'm not sure how much we learn from votes that don't force people to defend themselves.

Looks like an interesting game!

ok, the point of random votes is quite simple. (1 its probably the only time where we can joke without being accused of scum (2 It breaks the ice (3 shows scumy moves by people that can lead to future lynches.

Thanks for a well meant explanation, but you misunderstood me. :)

I guess I could have phrased it more clearly, but what I meant was not a random vote against, say, you, which might lead to a discussion between you and me, but the 'vote random' option, where the accused remains unnamed and therefore doesn't feel the need to defend himself.

I do usually throw out a random vote or two on day one, but I may not have much time to play this weekend, so I prefer to wait until I'm active enough to unvote in time when the game goed another way.

Maybe that's a bad idea, but I'm still figuring things out :)

I think the random vote concept introduced in this game is dangerous as no-one knows who it is that is lynched and it might be a very important power role.

No worries, I'll let you know the role of the person that gets lynched if you use that option...However, once you find out, it's too late to fix it...

I completely agree with nagerous on the topic of a random vote. In fact...

FOS gimpyThewonder, derfder34, XenCobra, and gethine for choosing the random vote.

Random is a bad idea. It's too risky and you can't really use vote counts to find scum. This is why I think scum would like the random vote.

Unvote Skittles!

Vote gethine
because out of all the random vote voters he said "it's a better way of getting a random lynch"

Yeah, I agree that this random vote is a bad thing. By doing this, we automatically kill someone without even letting them defend themselves. The mafia would probably vote for this, as it gives them a lesser chance of being voted out then having a majority choose them over the other 20 some-odd people playing.

I agree wtih nag here. There is too much of a chance that a doc, cop, robin, or even batman himself could accidently be lynched via the random vote. FOS everyone that voted random as that scummy vote won't really tell us too much tomorrow other than who is afraid to make an actual vote that could lead to evidence.

and now i realize that without having a target you would get no discussion - i was also defensively trying to move the votes away from myself. if i got banwaggoned then you will definitely lose a pro-gotham, whereas there was at least a chance that we could get scum with the random.

and thats my two pennies worth.

I'm not taking a chance on getting scum randomly...not when it could randomly get town or even worse a power pro-town role.

so you stand by your vote for random? then I stand by my vote on you, unless you can convince me otherwise.

we do have a lot of time left in this day, but we need a lot of votes to lynch someone.

I am still suspicious of the others that voted random.

we need to get more people talking.

And since we're playing in Batman theme, is there going to be a batman or robin? I wonder what their powers would be.
