anyone else see any merit to this or am I still the Ron Paul of this game?

I mean its definitely possible with a good scum player like rodion. And obviously safari is well aware of that tactic. I think its something we NOTE for late game, but I dont think its a big enough case to act on now.

Just back from vacation; 2 initial thoughts:

1) Hammering in 30 minutes after claim gave no time for discussion. The deadline forced us to act quickly, but I think BG/Edoc could have given a little more time. Especially since Rodion's reasoning was suspect. The fact that they also voted without researching the role makes me FOS BG & Edoc

2) I find it convenient that both claimed town roles claimed to be roleblocked the night mafia killed the jailkeeper. Seems like an easy way to get off free for the night.

im sorry, i dont recall if blake claimed, but this is the second day in a row that he was not here to throw in a final vote, and he might be telling the truth, but im not sure how coincidental this would have to be... might be something to go off of.

This would be an ok lead but edoc is way scummier right now.

I find it difficult to believe that a quick Wikipedia search wouldn't have confirmed the name of the character. Sure, the claim have been clarified by stating that this is the Kevin Costner character after he changed his name, but nothing edoc has said so far has explained why the insistence on dropping the hammer.

vote edocsil

I did the same thing as BG with a google search. There were 4 hours till deadline and I wasn't going to be around at deadline. I was unwilling to have 2 NL in a row even if that meant putting me in the hot seat. I didn't think anyone had the balls to hammer a claimed investigative in time for a lynch so I did it.

I would vote him but if he were mafia and claimed inventor he wouldn't clear me and when I showed up town he could say their was a busdrive or a mafia framer (who has been proven)

He had an odd claim and was the third claimed investigative role. In my opinion that is really too many for a 18 man game that means that perhaps a quarter of the town was investigative, on top of a JOAT investigation IIRC. Implausible claim at best and it is scummy of you to jump on the easiest case as soon as you possibly could. Also, you completely disappeared during the last critical days and guarantied that no matter what happened you could wash your hands of matter completely.

Blatant contradictory in this post so I'm majorly confused. But I understand his logic about the investigative role. Also, he doesn't seem bothered about missing a claim so FOS edoc as well

It didnt list the character, so I figured he was claiming movie title

That's why you look at the Plot Synopsis. Kevin Costner's character gets a name change partway through the movie.

I might be able to buy that we had two roleblocks, especially with a town jailkeeper, but at least BG should be able to tell us which JOAT action he tried to use.

It should be fairly easy to follow that they were two separate thoughts. To clarify I had forgot about BG's Joat claim, and then the watcher claim was what I found to be sketchy. As to not being bothered, well I am miffed at myself but there is nothing I can really do to fix that.

Excellent point, since depending on which power he used he may or may not be informed that he was roleblocked. Since he already used an investigation power, there aren't that many other abilities that he could have that would inform him that he was roleblocked.

What do you mean that "2 of those three could be roleblocked?" All of those actions could be stopped by a roleblocker, but none of those abilities should get any response that would indicate that you were roleblocked. Meaning that since none of those abilities are the type that would get a response pm from the mod or anything, how would you know if you were roleblocked when using them?

Absolutely. So unless you used the vigilante item (which for the record, we have no idea whether or not it actually IS a vigilante item) you could reasonably conclude you were roleblocked, but a doc protection and a roleblock doesn't necessarily mean that you were roleblocked, just that it may have had no effect on the the target. And even if your targeted vig target didn't die, it doesn't mean that you got roleblocked, the target may have been protected for whatever reason.

So yeah, jumping to conclusions about being roleblocked here...

Yeah definitely what the others have said. Did you receive a PM that you were blocked, or are u assuming you were blocked because your vigi or doc didnt work?

We took guesses at roleblock, doc, and vig, but I'm not so sure anymore.

Proton packs weaken ghosts, so they can be caught in traps, and then the ghosts from the traps are transferred to the containment unit for permanent storage. I'm not sure how these 3 would translate to mafia abilities.

I want to say that the Photon Pack would be the roleblocking ability

Based on GhostbustersWiki:

The game features a modified version of the Proton Pack (an experimental prototype) which is given to the player (the Ghostbuster's new Experimental Equipment Technician/guinea pig) for field testing. This new proton pack is equipped with other features (and upgrades) besides the standard proton stream. Here a list of its various features:

Proton Stream
The Proton pack's standard function that is used to wrangle ghost and/or dispatching lesser paranormal entities (and property).
