I trust loot and nag. There are three votes... now, we only need two more to lynch... I think that newguy has proven himself to be inactive in the last three or four games he has signed up for. So, I can reason that he bailed on this too, and so has not been sending in moves.... we skip him either way. Safariguy cleared kgb, so they are either both scum or both town... You all keep saying we need to just trust that... That leaves Virus, Neb and.... who else? I am on my phone at the dentist right now... Either saf and kgb are the scum or there is another group, so we either test it by lynching kgb and seeing how he flips, or saf, loot, kgb, nag and myself vote another group of two, as we already have the majority.

well you all should know where i stand on new guy..

why not turn Loot loose tonight? kill two birds with one stone if he follows through on his scum and clears himself at the same time

in theory if everything breaks right, we correctly lynch scum today and loot takes down another one in the night phase and we'd have the advantage heading into the next day

I assume you mean virus? What does the underlined mean? If I am understanding you correctly, your theory is ok, but its pretty high risk. The safest option for town right now is to not lynch, however in this case less risk = less reward.

We could test virus' claim while no lynching but that's effectively the same as lynching if he's town, and if we pick a wrong target then we are up shit creek without a paddle. And who would we have him target? No one strikes me as particularly scummy right now so odds of a successful vig kill are pretty slim (well 37.5%). Again a more conservative approach would just have Safari investigate him.

I still don't really get it. Scum target? Don't you just mean target? they aren't guaranteed to be scum... (which is one of the main problems with your idea).

sorry i got virus and Loot's roles mixed up, if we can correctly lynch scum today and virus is actually a vig, we could test virus' claim/clear himself if he names his target today and is successful with his kill during the night, a cherry on top would be that he guess correctly during the night phase and kills mafia

i'd like to believe saf is town since he cleared since i KNOW i'm town but he could technically still be scum and by "clearing" me actually draw me as a target

I disagree with letting virus call his shot. If he's mafia, he gets a free hit on a town player and we still might believe him.

As for me investigating anyone, I'm ok with no further claims as I assume we have a town doctor left. The problem with a possible follow the cop scenario is that mafia could just roleblock me and we would get no result tomorrow.

I'd be for a lynch of virus, I can't see a one-shot town vig. A regular vig would make more sense in a NV game. Not sure who else we would go after besides him.

I'd rather lynch someone like new guy who has posted 7 times in a month. We all have a real life and it's an easy excuse to hide behind if you're mafia. I can believe virus as a vig , it make senses that he hasn't used it yet and an odd detail for scum to claim as part of their role

Please stop giving new guy a free pass, I'll hear his claim but he hasn't contributed anything of value

And as you can see, the game has stalled out while you all wait... This is exactly what I knew would happen.

This is true, but his disappearance did not stop the kills, so he is mot the one we need to worry about... Know what I mean?

My vote stays, I have a hunch and I'm gonna stick to it. Curious that loot and virus are so quick to dismiss voting him.

What happens once he gets replaced virus? The new player will take some time to go through 30 pages and even if they don't read it all, will make some generalized statement that is supposed to do what? Will he have access to new guys night actions for info purposes (assuming he made any)? Seems unlikely at this point since 10 days go by at a time with no post from new guy. Short of a mistake by the replacement, the pressure falls back on virus. I was originally for believing you but it doesn't seem you have the same townie cred with the rest of the players. I don't think no lynch is an option. We NEED to get this day lynch right

I say loot name a new player to claim. we went from mass claiming to stopping after 3 claims. Maybe loot knew what he was doing by suggesting new guy go next.

Well kgb i agreed with you that we needed the lynch at the beginning of the day, see my first post(s) of this day (d3). but not everyone agreed on that, i was scummy for suggesting to lynch.. well i did not get it at first i do get it now. as i will explain further in my post.
anyway, If hotshot would replace newguy (if thats allowed since he was in this game before((longer then just day 1)) that would mean he knows what happened day 1 / 2 so there is not that much to reread. besides he has been checking out this thread ever since i guess. So i think if hotshot is allowed to replace he would be able to contribute more then what you are describing. Besides lynching someone who is inactive does not nescesaily means lynching scum, and what we need more then a lynch in general is a lynch of scum. because depending on the setup its crucial to lynch scum now or the game might be lost with a mislynch and the night going wrong. if we assume a 3 player maffia a beginning with 6 people of whom 3 maffia means a lost game. so basicly there are 4 scenarios in this case: (scenarios are generalised, and a lot more can happen but in general there are 4 possibilities)
1. we lynch maffia - no problem
2. we mislynch, and due to right nightactions we might make it (doc - blocking kill, me killing scum, roleblocker - preventing maffia etc etc.)
3. we mislynch and due to wrong nightactions we lose (me killing town, towny gets killed, maffia roleblock etc etc,,,)
4. we no lynch and probably have another day to figure it out. since we probably start the day with 4 town and 3 maffia (and we get more intel from another night)
so just lynching is not the way to go.

and to keep the day going i do agree we have to move on from newguy for now since stalling/waiting is not usefull anyway.

You're reading too much into this. Loot picked new guy, as soon as new guy is replaced before reading up his replacement should claim or I will vote him as well. Sorry to the replacement but we gotta play hardball on this one, claim and read up later. If you're genuine that shouldn't be too hard to do.
