Ultimately Neb, it seems that strike and MM have the luxury of time on their side. If you have to pick sooner, then I suppose it behooves you to look at what the numbers look like by the time you make your decision. Certainly, trying to guess what they will pick will be nice, but trying to force a side will be difficult.

Also, 2-3 votes on the right side can certainly be enough to actually force lynches each day.

Am I the only one who's noticed Fircoal apparently has it in for Lannisters or me (Tywin) in particular? Pretty much every post of his has been aggressive towards me.

It's because I don't trust youuuu. You have so much power over the game with a supposedly suspicious character (granted I know only what's been posted here about the game). It just seems like leaving both of you alive will make it easy for you two to win.

Interesting... can you hide behind anyone or are there repercussions for the wrong choice?

It means he chooses a player to hide behind each night and any actions thrown towards him will miss. However if the person he is hiding behind is killed, he would be killed as well. Most hiders are killed if they try to hide behind mafia but considering he is third party and this is a faction game, I am not sure if that counts here.

That role makes ZERO sense given the game that we're playing. Why would a hider be here in a faction game? Why would you be a hider who also chooses sides? In a way I don't think that both you and the Lancasters can be telling the truth. It's too odd for there to be 3 different roles to choose sides, as well as one of them supposedly having a time limit and the other not.

It makes perfect sense. Frey is a weasel of a man. He seeks only to advance himself and his family...thus his third party role...however he its not strong enough to actually have huge power, thus his hider role.

If you knew a little bit about the series, you'd see the flavor fits. I'd have to look back, but I believe Frey joined the war before too long...and well before the Lannisters did...thus the differing timeframes.

Do you think I just made this up? Finally, I'm waiting for more info on my hiding ability once I chose a side.

As memory serves, the deciding moment for both Frey and Lannister happened at the Battle of the Trident. Frey marched to join the battle though it's never been clear who he intended to join as he showed up only after the battle had been won for the rebels (most likely that was his plan anyways, bide his time and the battle may be decided for him), so it is possible he meant to side with the loyalists. The Lannisters on the other hand, after hearing about the Battle of the Trident, marched towards Kings Landing.

The role fits flavor wise. The key difference between the Lannisters and the Freys is that while Tywin both were patient and cautious during the Rebellion, Frey has no backbone at all and will take absolutely no risks unless he has insurance that they will have protection.

Firecoal did say something important. How can you have a hider that chooses sides??

We have not had full disclosure. There is the time element and the hiding element that still has not been answered. I understand that win conditions can not be revealed but role mechanics can be.

Hmm. Hider you say, but who is scum, maybe nobody is scum to the hider, so the hider is safe for now, but tonight he has to choose his colours, so that some faction becomes scum to him. Just hypothesising.

maybe he thought you would use your bulletproof ability?

seems like an elaborate claim to fake to me, so i buy it, i don't have the flavour knowledge of some but forcing the Lannisters hand into choosing a side today so he could have a better idea on size of factions makes sense if he has to choose tonight

Bullet proof ability? Perhaps I missed it but when he claimed he made no mention of being BP. Perhaps I am wrong. Could you point this info out to me KGB.

Minister Masket has claimed to have JOAT abilities, while he didn't specify what exactly that included this time around Bulletproof isn't part of the standard set. However, Strike Wolf claimed to have the Bodyguard power and said he would be using it on Minister Masket for the time being. So, if you believe this claim it would make some sense that you would expect Minister Masket not to die Night 1.

I was alluding to MM's JOAT status, I'm not familiar with what is and isn't included in JOAT abilities so if spiesr says it's not usually included than i apologize but it was more just speculation in response to MM's surprise that neb would choose him to hide behind

Standard JOAT is cop, doc, vig, block but if you were feeling funky you could have a JOAT with: busdrive, watch, track, hide (or any combination of actions)

For the record I have a non-standard set of JOAT abilities but it's pretty close to standard. Investigative is one of them and will likely be what I end up using N2.

I hid behind minister not because of his ability, but because strike wolf is jaime lannister, who is a 1-shot bp bodyguard, who said he would protect his father. There would have to be a lot of fancy work to kill Tywin. And since I believe that only the leaders of each faction know who is on their respective side, it would have been near impossible to coordinate such an attack.
I should be back on a comp by sunday, so I'll look back at those voting me. Namely Jonty and fircoal stick out to me...but it's so hard to make a case from a phone.
