To those who have been on the site that Storr was before here, I would like to hear your experiences with some of these roles in the hands of mafia vs town. Particularly those that have been highly devastating when in the possession of the mafia.

Between NRA and assassin, you chose Assassin to vote? That's probably the most scummy thing so far, so

Unvote, vote charm

Assassin is only worth something when they now a LOT of information. When there are this many free kill roles for mafia, voting assassin is only going to help mafia in my perspective. Mafia would need 2 of their members to get these specific roles (assassin and investigation role) to get a kill. Then they need both to stay alive.

I doubt you'd be stupid enough to actually try this when you are mafia, but then again in the last game i played here... (I won't use this as an argument for my vote, just saying).

Also, I find the lack of voting in the other thread disturbing so close to deadline.

Can we get at least a vote count in the role voting thread, Storr?

I'll vote CPR doctor for the reasons stated before. That would be terrible in mafia hands.

So there are currently five set to be banned? Does that mean more than four get banned in case of a tie?

of these i think godfather is least OP. it was in my top 4 aswell (nr 4) but i think i rather have hero banned. So i dont exactly understand why godfather is leading at the moment ... but some people still need to vote. soo please do!

I agree godfather is the least overpowered of the proposed roles to ban... I wouldn't be surprised if a scum or two is on that bandwagon.

Assassin is dangerous in that if it is available, then it will force town to false claim, which will make the town look scummy.

I think some people (like I am) are waiting until closer to the deadline, to make sure that the important roles have enough votes, and don't all vote one role and ignore the other 3. Whether all ties will get banned, or if storr made a mistake is a good question... if ties count I will go with assassin to get it to 2 votes, if it was a mistake, I will go with NRA member to make sure that gets banned

You rate me too highly strike, damn I struggle enough with all the roles let alone trying to deceive. I have voted for the hooker as that could end the game quick smart if it goes wrong. I am in full agreement that NRA and CPR need to be gone as well though. Also think that the hero is dangerous, a non lynchable scum is a scary prospect. But personally though I think we need to get rid of the multiple kill abilities before anything else. We can work around the rest but allowing scum to kill more than one a night could lead to a quick game.

Bummer, I had just written up how I was going to get another into tie status for more bans...
Oh well
I'm torn as to how bad NRA really would be, because if a town gets it (theoretically more likely?) they would be nearly immune to mafia if I understood correctly. Of course they would likely kill lots of town as well...

So there are three names listed by CPR, but it only has two votes. Is this a mistake?

I am going to vote hero now, because I don't think the town is going to get many if any killing roles and a scum hero makes it take the town three days to lynch him during which time said scum is almost guaranteed five kills.

So that would leave GF, CPR (probably), hooker and hero with 3 votes each if I am correct and NRA with 2 and assassin with 1
I would also like NRA banned (over GF) but at this point it seems as though I am choosing between hero and NRA, so I choose hero

FP'd by zivel (This post took a while as I have class today)

Question: Can a town member select a mafia role (ex: Godfather) as their power? If so, would it really only serve to block mafia from choosing that role, or would they actually get the godfather powers?

Anyone can select any role. No restrictions on what anyone may pick.

In the event of a tie on votes, the first vote to reach that "tied" number is the one picked.

At whatsausage. Problem is even in the hands of town, mafia only neeeds one night to learn the townie to avoid. Town could potentially go several nights and days losing peoplle and still not figure it out unless the NRA member claims leaving his role useless.

I don't think that NRA member is that good in a 21-person game, but I will unvote Godfather and switch to CPR doc. Then if anyone else feels really strongly about NRA member they can pull that trigger themselves.

I agree that nra isn't something we want strike wolf. I was just arguing why I believe hero to be worse. NRA is 4th on my list, unfortunately, I believe it is too late and gf was banned instead

Well mafia more or less went the route I expected with eliminating investigative roles and a couple of protective roles. I didn't expect priest to be banned but mostly because I thought it might get overlooked. My top scum candidates coming out of ban phase (notably very subject to change) are:

1. Zivel-For reasons previously stated plus:

Zivel wrote:

Okay yeah. That's what's being talked about but Rock Star really isn't much of a killing role in particular, so I still don't really see how you came up with it.

2. Charm-Minor as I do think Assassin maybe deserved a bit more attention. Still it looked like a throw away one about half way into the ban phase when we needed start becoming more in sync about the four roles we were going to ban.

3. Metsfanmax-Not much of one as I think the attempt was genuine to get godfather off the ban list for a more productive ban role but not sure why he went with CPR which was the least likely to not make the ban list.

Beyond that, there are a few I may disagree with but don't necessarily consider scummy. I will also admit that I apparently missed the bottom half of whatsausage's post that I replied to earlier. At the very least, I understand where he was coming from.
