I just had a thought, are there any sites where you can play mafia with an automated mod?(as in the mod isn't actually a person, just a program that automatically does the vote counting, starting and ending days, etc).

My quick google search didn't reveal anything.

Do you think this would be a good idea?

eh, i suppose, but i really like the human element for interesting roles and balance and things like that.

You have me interested, the hard part would be integrating the automation with CC. Set a ratio of scum to town, enter all possible roles and hit the "random" button. The hard part would be automating the PMs. Some sort of search algorithm could count the votes, but spelling would have to be perfect. A mod would have to post the results. While the idea is intriguing, I don't really see the point.

That would just take the fun out of it IMHO. Cuz, the robot/comp wouldn't write out a scene more than likely, just say:
Mandy-Mafia Goon has died.
