Ignoring the classic, I'm gonna have to go with the crossword map. It's very inovative and plays very well.

I like the Europe map, I don't know why, I just do, yet to play on the crossword map though, a bit dubious.

All of the polls I've seen of this type have included the Classic map. Naturally, it's always in the lead, what with it being the standard Risk map and all. It'd be interesting to see a poll that didn'thave that as an option, to see what else the people who choose Classic like.

... I voted for Classic. But of the other maps, I have to say, GrimSleeper's European map has taken a little abuse (constructive criticism), but it's a thing of beauty.
... Asia rocks as well.
... The Crossword map I haven't played. Though it's getting rave reviews.

I've played 43 games, 42 are on the world map... The other was a dabble in Asia.
I too would like to see this poll re submitted with no classic option, so IF I did choose another map, i'd know what ones were coming out as second favoutite

Actually after playing a few games on the British Isles map, I love it!
I must say I'm quite bored of playing the classic map... After playing the board game and Risk II for the PC...

For the longest time I loved the Classic map, even before coming to this site. Then once starting to play here, I started to enjoy Canada and Asia, but never could quite seem to do very well on those maps. But the British Isles map is now by far one of my favorites. The game play is wonderful and it is visually appealing, and is unique experimenting with a Hadrian's Wall feature. Over all it's near the top on my list.

Unique?
Guess you've never played a game on the Asia map.

If only you could read my post a little closer.
It isn't the only unique map, it just happens to share a unique feature.

Yeah, I noticed you claim to have played many a game on the Asia map, but the way you structured your sentence, you gave the impression that a one-way attack is unique to the British Isles. Which, as we all know, may be a unique feature, but not to any one map.
So you see, it's not that I didn't read your post closely enough. It's that I thought you must have been lying about playing a game on the Saia map.
Anyway, I'm just sore because it looks like people like Nobu's map better than mine.

I haven't played "many" a game on the asian map, only a handful. But the one way attack feature is definitely unique as we agreed upon, just not to any one map. But anyways all this really doesn't have any relevance.

Although the classic map is well... classic, I have to choose the British Isles or Europe map as my favorites for now. I also rather like Brazil, crosswords and Canada.
