Fog discussion

So I've played a ton of fog games. Saw this jewel of wisdom from a player recently explaing theoretical etiquette:

Snaps are auto taken each turn besides the 1st. It allows you to go back and see what the board looked like before your opponents turn.

It is considered etiquette in FOG games to allow your opponent 12 hours from launch to get a snap or until he tells you he has the snap. On the flip side, it is good etiquette to tell your opponent when you have a snap so they can take their turn when they want.

What the f*ck, over? Sounds like the biggest load of Crap I've ever heard.

This is a war game right?

My settings don't even take snapshots.

I have a real life schedule as well and I need to adhere to this tool's polite rules so he can beat me??

Love to hear opinions..

EDIT: I've played 905 Fog games. NEVER has this come up.

Generally, this stuff is only taken seriously in Clan play.

In many Clan wars, 12-hour rule is an actual rule, not just etiquette. In other Clan wars, it's not a real rule but still generally adhered to.

Outside of Clan play, most people don't bother. It's entirely up to you if you want to give them this courtesy.

One thing you can do, if you don't have time to postpone a turn on turn 1, is just tell them what they missed in chat. "Hey, I took Cairo from you." That's a compromise that satisfies most people without the formality of snapping.

Of course, if you don't use snaps at all, I can totally understand not worrying too much about other people's snap...:)

It is crap. The Art of War says that you should take your turn as soon as possible so that you have an information advantage. Also, they should change the freestyle rules so that the last person to join has an advantage.

Would/will never delay my turn; play this game au natural, if you use addons good for you, better be the last person to join if you want a snap.
