I'm sure this has been talked about before, but what is the etiquette on Fog of War games? I'm tempted to say something in the chat about another player and how strong they are, but with fog of war should the mystery be preserved?

say what you want, do what you want. what you are thinking about doing is not against the rules. many players put false info out to confuse the board, others offer up truth. it is up to the other players to process the information and act accordingly. there is not a written rule prohibiting you from stating that another player is strong, etc, in your game... the black jesus has spoken...-Jésus noir

p.s.-you have been here since '07, one would think you know how to search a topic in the forums... in before the merge...

Well sounds like he's looking for etiquette and not the written rules.
MOST people don't like that you spill info of Fog in chat (true or false).
Owen is right that it's not against site rules, but you could piss people off, get foed, argued with, or rated poorly etc.
Doesn't mean you can't, just know what you are getting into if you do :)

Good luck

It's perfectly fine. It's called fogcutting and there is nothing wrong with it. In fact it the logical way to deal with fog, both literally and figuratively. If it is advantageous to report it, by all means, REPORT IT!
...and if anybody gives you a hard time about it, feel free to foe and 1-star rate them right back. Two can play that game too.

Besides llamsagna's small vocabulary and inability to use an online dictionary, he is also a ratings hypocrite.
He's one of those players that justify their own biased & self-promoting use of the ratings and then scream abuse when others doesn't play along with the in-crowd's opinion of who deserves the stick and who deserves the carrot.

The rating system is so corrupt that CC really should offer an opt-out button.

lol, only a person who gives/gets(& cares that he gets) shit ratings would supply an an answer like that. one only needs to look @ my ratings given to see that they are given justly.

I wouldn't say most people. There is lot of people who talk in fog game as well.
Also it really depends what you say.

I don't think anyone would complain if you say
" player X is too strong, I can see huge stack"

if you say :
"he has 100 troops on my border"
maybe he would get annoyed but I think it's totally ok and many people wouldn't mind.

If you start saying what regions he owns exactly and with how many troops, then it's again another story ( but still ok for some players, I think it is ok ). But for this one many people would think you are giving too much info.

I only share this kind of information when playing against people that are better than me (like you). I'll take any advantage I can get in those situations ;)

You know I love you and would loan you my bicycle but I am shocked and appalled that you taunt us so. The search function has been broken.

p.s. I hope you don't blame Thorthoth. It totally wasn't his fault. He is as much a victim here as the mods and admins who won't know how it broke.
