-------Yes, the High Command is at it again. We use to just go to all games we have played. They now have changed it to. Find all games you have played.
-------It will be a lot of fun to do... ....At least the other way it was for years and years and years. We had the game numbers. The maps to look at... :( ....Here they go again...Thanks for the change High Command... =D> ...ConfederateSS.out!(The Blue and Silver Rebellion). ;) ...Most likely it was the idea of 2 or 3...Clique,Clan or tourney shmoes...So a handful of people can say yeah...While the community/public pool shakes it's head... :(

When you click on "find all games with x" (on a player's wall) it used to go directly to Game Finder (original version).

As of yesterday it was changed so it goes to Game Finder (generation 2). Will be an unwelcome change for those who hate the new Game Finder, but even for those who don't, it's now an extra click.

Not my favourite change, but I suppose it was slated to happen sometime.

-------I like checking my old games(go to wall) once and awhile. Sometimes to look back on past glories. Or to find a player etc...I was trying to look something up for C&A...About a poor sport...We used to have pages with game numbers...HOW CAN WE GET THAT VIEW BACK IF POSSIBLE? I love to scroll...How do we look things up,without the game number etc.? :D ...ConfederateSS.out!(The Blue and Silver Rebellion). :D

You can still do it thru game finder instead of the wall. Go to game finder, delete the #2 after "find", type in user name whose games you want to see and search.

Objectively it seems hard to defend the change when it means an extra click.
Not a big deal, but an unnecessary complication.
That said I do not like contributing to a thread like this. A select few people whining and moaning day in and day out does my head in.

Yes the whining, hey why not tell EVERYONE when a change is coming and who decided this was a good change? f*ck everyone who is anyone knows CC was running smoothly so why then this less than brilliant change?

BGtheBrain wrote:I think what hes saying, is that the link on someones profile that says "Find all games with BGtheBrain" used to pull up all of their games.

Now, it pulls up the new game finder, but no games. To get it to display the games, you have to scroll down and hit "submit"

Is there a way to make it show the games without having to hit submit? Not a big deal either way, just trying to help communicate here.

Also, thanks IP for the reminder on how to find old game finder.

Ahh, ok. I'll take a look / mention it at our next Kumbaya session.

Sounds like they uncovered a bug that necessitated the change to the new game finder. It wasn't a case of "if it ain't broke don't fix it", it was broke so it was fixed.

As for auto bringing up without the submit button, it doesn't sound promising.

-------Thanks Ice Pack..... :D .....I got it. I had to adjust my window/screen to see SUBMIT option. Never liked the new game finder looks.I have been caught off guard more than once. On a High Command change without notification to the public. I still like the old ways. Grind my teeth when I look at Central Command. But that's what we have.
-------Other sites like yahoo e-mail,espn sports...will give a new and a classic option. But I know with all the same maps 9 USA maps ,settings only a few like. Setting changes(FREESTYLE) that drive the masses away. So a few cliques, clans and tourney goers can pat themselves on their backs. Take up programming space...I sure would like our HOLIDAY DICE we used to have.BACK...Instead of all these other damn changes...Just saying... ;) ConfederateSS.out!(The Blue and Silver Rebellion). :D :D :D

I dont like complaining for the sake of it or complaining about every new change.

To be honest the first time I saw this, when clicking on a "find all games with ..." link, I just assumed that the page was broken.

Its always a backward step when something becomes more difficult. even if it is an extra click, a good web developer aims to make things easier not harder.

That said, I can see one benefit. I often use the "find all games with ..." link when reading C & A or other players feedback and in these cases I think having the form set up with one of the players ready to go is a bonus.

What would possibly make everyone happy is if the form auto submitted when first opened. I think this would be trivial to do and would keep people that were happy with the way it worked before happy.

If this is what Ice Pack was referring to with
As for auto bringing up without the submit button, it doesn't sound promising.

Then I would like to know whats so hard (not talking about removing the submit button, just auto submitting).

I dont know the technical aspects, or the hows or whys (or even if its correct) but from what I've been told its just doesn't sound possible with the new set up, and the old set up was bugged so it had to be replaced. And so the closest that could come up with was pre filling the form and needing the "submit" button.

Well I guess one possibility is that the request takes several seconds to run and return results, so submitting that when you are not certain thats what the user wanted is awkward.
