Not sure if this is possible or not.
But how about fair drops on auto tourneys.
I am in round 3 of a 2 pl tourney, and I have had first turn in 3 out of 13 games. Some maps it means you are a gonner before you get a turn.
How about evening it up a bit?

how about posting in suggestions?
anyway... so, tournaments should be coded differently than regular games? aren't the odds of going first or second the same in regular games as tournament games? total crap shoot if you ask me, that's why i don't play those types of games. so, let me get this straight, you want them to code tournaments for 1v1 games differently than normal games? i'm sure they will put that right at the top of the list...-Jésus noir
p.s.-people have been complaining about the drops in these types of games since the first day they came out...

Why yes I do.
Is it too much to ask for a fair chance in a tourney?

as opposed to a fair chance in regular games? why do tournaments matter more than standard games? you are kind of missing what i am saying here... i'm trying
to help you out...-Jésus noir

I guess because it's impossible to make it fair in regular games?
xroads is speaking of a tournament in which he has to play a lot of 1vs1 against the same player. Therefore starting half of the game is possible and can make sense.
If I open 10 regulars 1vs1 game, and 10 different players join, how are you make it fair ? Can't do that.
But I agree with owen here, probably not gonna happen. And not even sure it should, it's 50% chance of starting a game right now, that's fair enough. Drop and dice are as important as 1st turn in 1vs1. Can't make it fair even if you'd try.

It's fair enough and only a small element of luck. One could argue that if this is implemented, another big factor would be where you start. Starting on a map with, say, 14 territs pp is less impactful than starting first on a ma with 12 territs pp.

you see it now, brutalbob?Because im a not-that-old member i am totally ignored by those older forum-surfers.Although my example is much more better(a final!!!).vision a olympic 100 meters where one runner starts at the 60 meter-line....it devaluates the tourney enormously.
the question is;can it be improved?if so,it should.

lol, Owen might be a bit too straight forward for some of us here, but in this thread he's being very polite. I don't understand the fuzz about that at all, to be hounest.
Anyway, changing the 'randomness' of the drops is a bad idea. Someone already mentioned the priority-issue it raises. Why are tourney games more important than any other game? For a new recruit his/her first game will feel a lot more important than your game in some final after you've already played 10.000 games.
Also, I've experienced both sides of this argument. A final in which I had no chance due to drop/dice. And a final in which my opponent wasn't able to get even a little bit into the game. If both finals would've turned against me, then surely I woulda thought it sucked. But I'm 100% sure the other two players wouldn't feel the need to complain about the unfairness of the drop, because they won so easily. So why should I?
Long story short, this thread feels too much like a dice-complaint to spend another minute here.

Why don't we just remove all randomness from this website. That's what everyone seems to want.

I know you are joking but I would like to see that, or at least a game engine option that toned the effect that this randomness has. No one would go for it because it makes sense that the people that are here like the way it is and the people dont like the game the way it is have gone elsewhere.

I agree this would be interesting. I did make this suggestion too. Of course everyone rallied around and said "Look we dont agree with you and like it the way it is, but good on you for trying"
