I would like to hold a simple YES/NO vote on the topic of whether or not it is considered bad form to reveal an opponent's troop movements to all other players during a fog game.
Do you frown upon the act of revealing troop movements and/or stack size/location to all other players in a fog game?
Yes = Alerting other players about troop movements/quantity is deplorable and defeats the purpose of the fog
No = Technically, it is not against the rules so you're free to play that hand if you need or want to
If you would like to include an explanation, please begin your post with your YES or NO answer and write your explanation below that line.
Let the debate rage!

No - And if your opponent does this to you, just discredit him by pointing out that its a lie.
Edit: Its a game of diplomacy as much as strategy.
Also, "all troop movements" is somewhat different to, "Guys, green is really strong attack him".

No. It's more than acceptable and also a very good mean of deception. Don't overdo it and be annoying, but should the case arise, Game Chat is there for your use. It's a strategy game, and not all of the strategy has to be on the board.

No - It makes the games more complex and interesting. If I see a situation that will result in one player quickly taking over and winning, and I cannot stop it myself, then I consider it almost a duty to alert the other players. If I don't, then I'm essentially giving up - there was something legal that I could do to stop them, but I chose to keep quiet and let them win.
If you don't like it, then you can always start a call out for like-minded players.

NO - It's part of diplomacy. Can make some games different and more fun sometimes.

I vote no. Though I would argue that it's pretty poor form to do so just to f*ck someone over.

It doesn't, let's try to stay on topic. Owen, you must have an opinion on the matter. Whether the thread is half assed or not, is really irrelevant in this case. A poll would indeed be the logical thread format, but not everyone here is a forum regular (as you know like nobody else does!).
My vote goes to No because of before-mentioned reasons.

Is the black Jesus unable to count votes? You need the site to do it for you?

If you consider that to be a burn, you're probably one of those people who complains it's hot outside when it's 70 and overcast.

Yes... I think?
If nobody else does it, out of respect, then doing it makes you a loser. If you're about to lose anyway and you do it, you suck. If you're like, "hey everyone, we still have a chance" ...well, then good luck.

In general, YES respect the fog. If you are saying so and so attacked me here and he has this stack etc that's very bad form.
But there are times, though rare, when I feel like it is ok to break the fog rule in chat. When either a player is really about to run away with the game and the other players can't see it, or when a player has made what amounts to a suicide attack (whether intended or not) against a player, I feel it is ok to call them out. But other than that, basically what the other people have already said- you can say anything you want in chat and people can take you at face value or not. I think the "let's gang up on the leader" mentality kinna sucks so I will hold out until it's really really nearly over.
MANY people will use chat to turn the tide against a player who is attacking them and is up in region count but who, in the grand scheme of things, is not really "winning"

you are right... let's eliminate the option to use polls... i find this hilarious, because you probably use all of the add/ons and more, to play the game... i am one of the few purists, who refuses to use any add/ons or "tools" to cheat... so, coming from someone that uses the site to count his troops, bonuses, opponent troops and bonuses, etc... i find it amusing that you would be so opposed to having a poll at the top of this thread...-Jésus noir

No rule being broken bub. Technically it's not cheating.

I find it hilarious you think you have a clue what I use or don't use on the site. So coming from someone who obviously doesn't know what he's talking about...
Cheers IcePack
PS - I'm not opposed to a poll, I'm just pointing out there are more than one ways to achieve the same thing. He has chosen one way, you can choose another. Kinda like those add ins

So as a purist who refuses to use all the extra nonsense on the site that do the little things for you, shouldn't you be opposed to using the poll?
Are you normally this oblivious to the points you make?
