CC cookies?

Since when does CC require cookies to login? I was toying around with my browser settings earlier when I noticed this.
When I blocked cookies, CC refused to let me login. When I allowed them, all was fine.

Has this always been like this?

Hmm, I would worry about what effect that has on new recruits. I can't be the only one messing with his cookies-settings.
And I can imagine that a new recruit won't go look for the cause, but will simply leave.

Yes, but not having them doesn't prevent you from logging in.
