Banning People and Mods with too much power

How can you ban someone without doing any research on it. You ban a husband and wife that play the game.
I think this is abuse of power if you ask me.
Why dont you email them and ask them before you just ban. People have too big of egos on here and think they rule the site because they have no power in real life.
And if you look at the forum FAQ's you will see any alliance secret or public is not illegal. Im guessing that MODS be aware of the rules before you start banning.
Of course you are going to have an alliance if you know the person or have played with that person before. So banning someone on that topic is just plain anti social behavior.

Rules:
No multiple accounts.
No secret alliances.
Sometimes the bans
might go to far, but they do allow for explanations, it's not black or white by any means.

they have plenty of ways of knowing about multis instantly, its not a matter of digging down to find it. If a cheater or multi is brought to light then the mods pretty much know whats going on. And as for a two people on the same computer, that needs to be announced early on and any if they're breaking the two rules above then they need to be banned

Then the husband and wife should not be playing on the same frigging GAME!
And pull your head out of your ass before making assumptions you know nothing about.

Secret alliances are in fact, illegal. I'm guessing you should be aware of the rules before accusing mods of not knowing them.

umm, radical, you don't know what you're talking about. you haven't been around long enough to know what's going on. please stop spouting off until you know something about the site. funny part--there are only two rules on CC, and you haven't mastered that yet.
it's not antisocial to ban friends who play together and help each other out w/o telling anyone what's happening. in fact, that kind of play is dishonest and dishonorable--CC doesn't want that to happen, that's part of the reason this whole system is here. maybe you should be aware of the rules and basic concepts of fairness in competition before posting anymore.
damn i'm jaded

there are way more cheaters found than innocent people charged....and as long as they appeal it, i think the mods are very fair...
if people do not realize there is law here....there will be chaos....similarly, if they go overboard, the people will revolt, but you have no examples and are talking in generalities..i have seen no abuse by any mods...they keep the place under control and that is no easy task....
go look at the number of threads in flame wars and cheating and suggestions that need their attention....its a lot

I never truly noticed how often you abuse your powers.
I wonder what she will change this to?

Well let me say something on this issue.
Here is the deal. I hate to lose to my wife, not matter what. We are both very competitive. Trust me, its not fun hearing that im the risk champion time and time again.
I wanted to appeal this decision, but there is no way to defend yourself, if you cant post to the forums.
We are not the ordinary husband and wife team. We are out to kill each other, so that there is bragging rights. And with 3 kids in the house, sometimes you have to take the lumps.
A quick ban and no posting privilages, then how do you appeal. I had to use masters email acct that i found from his profile to get this straighted out.
As the FAQ it says this about secret alliances "Regarding secret alliances, if you are not happy you can leave them the appropriate feedback and add them to your ignore list if you no longer wish to play with them"
And trust me I am sure you do not want to live with someone that is kicking butt on risk and has a 50% winning ratio.
The thing that got me bitter was that I wasnt even giving a chance to say, OMG, im not cheating.
I hate cheaters in a game like this. And i did have someone play against me that had a multi-acct. Sure, it flustrated me. But when you are playing, there are secret alliances, maybe they are not spoken but there are alliances, in every game you play.
And to Master.. ty for taking the time to check out the accusation and clearing us. Its flustrating at times, when you KNOW you are not cheating and you get accused of it. It leaves a bad taste in your mouth.

Mack, et al,
When faced with this situation, to ask for an appeal, please use the
contact form located at the top of the page. This is accessible even when an account is inactivated.
Glad your situation got cleared up Mack. We are human, mistakes are made occassionally, but we'll do our best to fix them when they do occur.
