My only solution would be to do what many of us do: play 1v1 sequential. Almost a guaranteed rank killer. Of course, this could be true only because of my poor ability, but, if you would like, I can set up 10 1v1 sequential/casual games and even if you end up at 50% you should have some fun and you will lose some points.
Cheers.

As my inbox is already filling up with game invites that I can but guess come from lowly officers scenting free points, it seems the word is out!
The trouble is that I know me. I actually HATE losing points: a long drawn out thing over a few weeks and I'll either change my mind (or have a big win come in) and I'll be back to where I was. A while ago I wrote a thread about sticking at 2,500 and playing some speed classic flat. One week later I'm up near 2,900 because a few 8 man dubs games came through, I won most of the classic flats and I found myself even further away. I know, poor guy, but as I remember FabledIntegral writing here over a year ago "It is really hard to lose points." I think I probably mocked him at the time for being a pompous git (which he was) but he had a point on this thing. 10 1vs1's just won't do it.I need something extreme and fast. Why do you think people point drop? Yet I want to do it legally.
I may play a couple of those 1vs1's...but as I said, they aren't the answer. I want to drop 1,000 in an evening and I want it to be legal. Is that REALLY impossible??

Correct.

This time tomorrow be on-line. I have no work on Friday so I intend to buy a bottle of whiskey, settle down in my seat and, as you put it, assdoodle this thing out.

Effectively I want to point drop back to about captain so I can play my favoured game style (speed standard, flat, classic 4-5 man) without being in the ridiculous position of gaining about 30 points for a win and losing 40 points on a loss. It isn't good for the map rank stats, but more importantly I get little pleasure out winning 30 points for a four man game and I just hate losing 40! Also the colonel is a rather conspicuous figure in such an environment and I'd rather play these games without having an enormous target over my head. In my last game I was suicided on and half his fun (after I thoroughly outplayed him) was to suicide me to see how many points I'd lose...38 in fact.
So I want to get back to captain and exclusively play speed flat and see if I can maintain captain/major against all ranks. I would enjoy my CC 2010 on this basis.
Yet the issue is how to do it legally. I think I am right in saying that if I challenged some cooks to 1vs1 games and let them win (which seems to me to be the quickest way to do it) I'd find myself with a thread in C and A again and this time I might actually be in trouble. If I set up a large bunch of 1vs1 speed games I would surely find myself in the same position...but what about if I actually made some effort to play 30 speed games at once, would I still break the point dropping rule? Couldn't I claim I felt I was intelligent enough (ha ha) to handle it? The other method (that I know of) is to go the doodle route and set up those freestyle 8 mans. But my issue with this is the time it would take (assuming I am only losing 20-30 points per game and waiting for games to start etc etc), but again, how many can I set up at once without being accused of point droppping? One final way would be to play a really top player at a style I am useless at (say King_H or Demonfork at City Mogul freestlye) and quite predictably lose 50 games in a row. I mean I would even if I was trying! But would that be legal?
It seems to me that all these ways could lead to an accusation of point dropping and a C and A thread, yet the simple truth of it is that I want to point drop! I'm not enjoying my CC at the moment (and haven't been for a while) and the reason is simply the inflated rank. I have little desire to push for 3,000, I can maintain where i am forever playing the kinds of games high rankers play yet, as I said, these aren't the games I want to play anymore. I want to get back to the madness that is public speed classic flat. I know most high rankers hate the style, but I've always loved it (it is the game I grew up on) and it is all I want to play now...but not from this rank.
So, what's the quickest, easiest, least time-consuming and LEGAL way to drop 1,000 points?

After that, losing 1000 points is easy. You can open your own speed games, play doodle assasssin games which guarantees losing points, unless you can beat the odds by 3 times above average...which maybe you can, maybe you cant.
Speed games will take care of it though. Even if you win your fair share, the points will shed, assuming you dont find a type that you are especially good at.
Any open games that are based solely or largely on luck will take care of it though.
And no, Im not guessing. A 1000 points shouldn't take more than a couple of days, if that.
Personally, I think to fully understand CC, one must do this occasionally, because if you only play games in the higher brackets, with higher ranks, you simply can't see how others actually cant move forward, and why good players, seem stuck at lower ranks. Until youve dont it, you cant realize that if you dont actually play on the right settings, it actually can be impossible to move through the ranks, and I think this one bit of info is what most players really need on getting started, if they truly care about rank.
My god I type a lot.

Seems to me that if you don't care about losing 1,000 points just play the fucking games you want? Don't look at your rank and enjoy it rank free. I never look at my rank in the sence that "omg a cook joined" etc. I just play what i want, when i want and enjoy it, win or lose.

And keep at it! You would be amazed how many people can actually handle a couple of paragraphs...you would think they were being asked to read War and Peace before lunch by the way some go on. "Cliffs Notes please!" they call. "Take some pills for the ADD!!" I always feel I should reply.
Thanks for the warning on actually trying to win. That is key. However, I am not the fastest thinker, nor do I understand assassin games, nor do I have clickable maps, nor can I play speed freestyle. I'll lose 20 in a row and I'll be trying my best believe me.
However I do disagree with the motivation...at least it is not my motivation. Rather than expanding my play I am going back to basics, to my comfort zone. I want to play 100 classic speeds this year (I'm afraid I will never have time to play thousands of games) and I aim to hang around captain to major. I simply don't give two shits about rank anymore..I could drop to a striper and I wouldn't give a shit. I sneaked into the top hundred, I rose pretty high and I didn't farm to get there. I've done my hard work. CC is for fun now.
Still planning to play a bunch of these on Thursday and more on Friday as well. If anyone wants to play me at doodle keep an eye out!!
