This has caused me to ;leave the site previously. Having set-up like contending site where foeing player just disallows them from joining your games rather than all games they are in leaves a more equitable outcome. A few AH can ruin everyone's game and harm the site the way foeing is set up here.

To not take advantage of the COVID influx and drop back further than ever is a clear example of the game being left to fizzle out and die.

Well ... in the last week we,ve gone back up nearly 100 multi tastic 3,630 ....normally I would be pleased, but i'm more suspicious than pleased, which says a lot.
In regards to reaching the 1000 on the running scoreboard for the month, what has been failed in the last few months consecutively continues in this fashion but this time in a way that didn't ever look in doubt.
Davie.K wrote:3,627 one month on we're pretty much the same, which is better than recently add to that we went over the 1,000 for the first time in a few months.Davie.K wrote:Davie.K wrote:3,547 … this really is piss poor isn’t it.

So, I thought I'd play a few games maybe get back into it over the winter. Problem is nobody joins games. I only play risk type maps and normal risk settings. The same games filled within hours last time I was here.
The site is 100% dying. The problem is the deviation of the game and maps of risk. The very thing that brings people here. I'm sure everyone of us found this site by googling 'online risk'.
As a dying business something needs to be done to salvage it. If I was the owner I'd have a massive cull of every non risk type map and some of the settings because It's definitely going to die with the present format. Just a matter of how soon.

This is so out of touch. If you were to do that, most of the current people that play regularly and keep the site alive would leave. If your proposition is true, though, it would take one hell of a "risk" to try and bring the site back. At the cost of all the clans, tribes and tournaments that keep most of the hardcore players here.
The peak during the pandemic, and the sharp drop off thereafter, implies that the site currently would not be able to retain significant numbers of users gained through awareness marketing.Votanic wrote:Business 101 Response:
If you can locate the necessary capital, increase your Brand Awareness Marketing budget.
Of course, you will need (and want) to be ready to respond to the increase in traffic.
N.B. I am NOT personally advocating such a course. Small and declining can be nice.
Perhaps it is better to revel in the forlorn poetry of being among the last of the Atlanteans, ... as the tiny remnant isle of our soon-lost continent sinks forever beneath the waves.
Admittedly, this post has strayed considerably from the 'all-business' tone I was originally attempting to affect.

Make a new site with only the best maps in high definition. Keep the old site too. Subscription paid = acces to both sites.
The new site will attract new players and the old site just needs to keep the old players.
The old site feels like we are in 2007 for ever.
