My issue with it is that when I receive an invitation, I can't see on the same screen how many active games I have running currently. That's a big problem for a freemium.
I know we don't count in the grand scheme of things, of course, and have no rights - but I think we're a big enough minority to have some things taken into consideration, especially if it risks participation.
I also have no interest in campaigns, clan warfare, tournaments etc, so it would be helpful to be able not to show those and revert to a single line of tabs that interest me.

My issue with the new central command is that it is far too cluttered, like the rest of the site. Too many options/tabs/whatnot. Is there any way to clean this up, maybe at least have it all on one bar:

Having it "all on one bar" will just have it wrap and be multiple lines either way.

Pardon?

People do have opposing opinions other than "everything is terrible the sky is falling". Reading some of these forums you might never know it, but that's because most are filled with the same outspoken people posting the same things in all the different threads ;)

Not to say some of it isn't valid, but something's really aren't as bad as they're made out to be either,

I know. I understand and appreciate that which is why I added a positive part into my comments. Haha I only put my comments into another thread because I noticed the bug report afterwards and thought it best to put some concerns there too, though I didn't keep it up. I'm also pretty vulgar so.

On the other hand, I find it hard to take things you say with decency on a regular basis when you have me foed, regardless of the reasons.

The trouble with making everything an option,

I think part of the main issue is that it was working fine before, and there weren't vast public threads challenging these parts of the site prior to the changes. It kind of appears the recent motto for these changes is "If it ain't broke, we're going to create opportunities to break it". We don't need options, we just need simple displays and methodologies that work. The previous game finder and central command pages worked for so many years and were easily navigated by the majority of the site that remains, why rock the boat on something that was one of the few things not being complained about nowadays?

User interface was one of the most complained about things beforehand. Central command was in part to update how things appeared but also to eventually help the bigger picture / plan for the site.
Doing nothing clearly wasn't working, and updates to things are bound to happen.
Game finder was voted in to be changed by guaranteed suggestions by players, so saying that there wasn't any public demand for it is a little bit incorrect. People asked for the changes to be made. Might not have been 100% what they envisioned but again, updating pages so they are uniform with central command and overall appearance of the site is the same isn't something that should be unexpected. Going from the "square look" on central command and lists elsewhere to all one look, makes sense.

-------To quote..."we can't make everyone happy".....You're right....so why does C.C..keep trying... To keep adding settings...overbearing maps...To keep the Clans and Cliques happy... Frenchman Al Lamorisse made the game of RISK simple for us to enjoy... You know, the reason why we are all here... If you kept things easy... We would all be happy... That's why we are here...TO PLAY RISK...not all the changes...not Tic-Tac-Toe...If we want to play Chess. A game that hasn't changed in 1000's and 1,000's of years... We would go to a Chess site...ConfederateSS.out!(The Blue and Silver Rebellion)...
-------As for everyone in the forums are posting negative threads... Most of them are full of ideas to bring things back ,or turn things around...INSTEAD WE GET TIC-TAC-TOE...AND A KALEIDOSCOPE TO LOOK AT... Maybe we should take the ideas the High Command ignores. To a Chess site...They might add Risk to their gaming site...

Plenty of those ideas posted in the forums have been implimented since BW came on board. You can point to the few you don't like and say "there are other ideas out there why do we get these?" But you can also see plenty of others that have been implimented that have been requested for years.

well.. sorry... i don't think any of the new changes are going to increase numbers... go back in time and correct a few huge mistakes made by previous ownership...

1. destroying speed games
2. destroying the forums by declaring an open war on members

and then do something worthwhile like, making a mobile app... i keep hearing how facebook killed CC... really? then figure out how to make CC a facebook game!!!
i could care less about the interface and how i have to join games. why? because i always figure out how to get into the games i want to get into when i want to get
into them... CC needs to go back and look at where they lost 1/3 of the site overnight and reverse those decisions that past owners made. the interface is the least of
the sites worries... it works. i can join games. i can set up games. i have nothing to complain about. fix the other shit that matters...-JĆ©sus noir

Well, i dont know what "destroyed speed games" in your opinion.
"destroying the forums" was based on, what? over moderation right? im pretty sure the moderation now is super lax now compared to before. I dont see a flood of people coming back to the forums but i dont think this is really an issue anymore?
Ive heard about "destroying freestyle" and i asked what "killed it" and was told to go read a couple threads that were 100+ pages long, filled with differing opinions and no clear breakdown of what specific changes were desired. I've asked numerous occassions "give me specifics on what freestylers would like to see fixed / "changed" back to the original (besides the timer, or hold / pause in the beginning) and every time its been met with rude or arrogant answers. I dont care about freestyle, I'm just looking to help but if those wanting to play those games can't be bothered to tell me what would help their cause, then it probably isn't going to go anywhere. Not that giving me those details would get it implimented, but it would be a pretty good start letting some of the "not in the know" be "in the know" so we can look at maybe helping the cause.

The suggestion of undoing the changes seems somewhat perverse to me. The players have left, their not coming back. To revert changes to appease these players isnt going to make them come back. All it might do, is push away those players who appreciated the changes.

Whats done is done, Ce Sera Sera.

I do agree with Owen that entering the world of facebook gaming does seem like the money spinner. I used to frequent a site called the casualcollective about 5 years ago, but the owners "sold out" to facebook and left the community for dead. Terrible news for us, but the owners are raking it in with facebook games so cant really blame them.

-----Speed games were supposed to be like playing a real time game...Add more settings to make a few people happy...Who and the hell would take a turn in real time in 1 min. As for other settings and maps(nothing but clutter)...NOT BASIC,which are never going to be made anymore... If Conquer Club went back to Basic Maps/settings... Wouldn't making a Mobile APP...Be that much easier. Then all the clutter that is the back bone of C.C. at the present time. REALLY THINK ABOUT IT... :D ConfederateSS.out!(The Blue and Silver Rebellion)...
-----SOME jackass(in another thread) had the nerve to say that Chess sites and Poker sites have changed...Really, the last time I checked. Poker is still played with 52 cards(4 suits)...Chess(Real) is played with 32 pieces(16 on each side). On an 8 file by 8 rank (64 squared board). RISK should be played the way Albert Lamorisse created it...THE BASIC WAY... (Yes, I know about Chinese Chess and 3-D Chess)...I'm talking about REAL CHESS...The game everyone knows...When Chess is spoken...

i am sorry... i used the incorrect terminology in that post, it was late... i meant the changes to FREESTYLE... when the rule changes to freestyle were kicked in, 1/3 of the site fled... there are several threads within the forums concerning this and it is discussed well in depth in the GREAT DECLINE thread... i apologize, i absolutely said the incorrect thing.

in terms of the forums... killing off flame wars and banning most of the notable personalities/posters within the forums, absolutely killed them. team andy's open war with members in the name of a "sale to hasbro", simply destroyed one of the most notable forums on the internet. it wasn't over moderation, it was a blatant take down. i recall one member being banned for reporting being called a derogatory term (over reporting was the charge) and that was a 6 month ban. and yes, the forum moderation is much more lax now as evidenced by a member issuing a death threat and having multiple threads locked, all in one day, without even a 24 hour vacation. however, once you disrespect members (paying and non-paying), and they leave, they will be hard pressed to come back.

again, i could care less about how the interface looks, i can always make games and will always be able to figure out how to make/join games... if these changes are a step towards a mobile app, hurrah... if not, they are a waste of time. BW has a plan, and he is obviously following it. i have enjoyed a great deal of his changes, i just wish you guys would announce them...

--------Real Time game...Like you would play on a risk board... Not having to wait 24 hours to take a turn though... As for Risk,Chess, Poker...If by weird...someone who wants to play a game... The way they were supposed to be played... Then Damn Straight ...TRU THAT... You might want to talk about the weird people with their maps and setting changes...
--------Because ,people come here to play RISK...But I guess the High Command thinks other wise...Like You...Have fun with Mancala...Who knows? We might get PARCHEESI next...People like you can keep your fingers crossed... :D :D  ConfederateSS.out!(The Blue and Silver Rebellion)...I can't imagine why ,when new members come here to play Risk...They turn right around and leave as fast as they can...They must be weird as well... Or we all are for staying... ;)

What killed Conquer Club was the internet's general evolution away from browser based online gaming communities. Some still do exist and thrive, but a majority of the market is shrinking.

im noticing small changes on a day to day basis. And I am getting used to it all now. I do still request that games in the waiting game slot get automatically sorted by game number like it used to, or at least stay in some sort of organized fashion. Whenever I join a new game, my list gets shuffled around.

Ice Pack, I feel like you are close to the ones who can make this happen. Any way you can run that up the flag pole?

Waiting games? Game finder? Join a game? Explain what you mean in a pm to me and I'll see what I can do.
