It's trench, no spoils... I have shit left for troops, and they are all stacked around me. Every time I get the bonus, pink takes 1 spot from me. The others have yet to attack.

Does it look like that's any kind of strategy? I think not. Just screwing around when I should have been gone along time ago.

It's fog so hard to call, but last turn you held the bonus and out-deployed him. No spoils with trench is not a fast-paced game so wouldn't expect him to go all out and expend troops eliminating someone, thereby leaving himself weakened to withstand retaliation. It's not like there's the advantage of acquiring cards by making a kill.

This is definitely not an hostage situation.
Hostage are mainly 1vs1 case, in multiplayer you can always come back if the other people start killing each other like crazy.
Also if you want to be killed, maybe you can throw all you have at pink and then ask him to finish you, he might do it.
But if everyone stacks and no one attack for long time, you could offer a tie breaker game and declare this one stalemate if everyone else agree, then play same game but no trench escalating, would be finished in big maximum 20 rounds and you can get over that other game.

In a multiplayer game like that, only if you had one region with 1 troop surrounded only by one player with stack, and he wouldn't kill you even if you keep having 1 troop ( means you suicide everything each turn) and you asked him to take you out, then it would be hostage. Otherwise it isn't.
