Electronic spamming is the use of electronic messaging systems to send unsolicited messages (spam), especially advertising, as well as sending messages repeatedly on the same site. While the most widely recognized form of spam is email spam, the term is applied to similar abuses in other media: instant messaging spam, Usenet newsgroup spam, Web search engine spam, spam in blogs, wiki spam, online classified ads spam, mobile phone messaging spam, Internet forum spam, junk fax transmissions, social spam, television advertising and file sharing spam.

yeah.. that isn't SPAM...Electronic spamming is the use of electronic messaging systems to send unsolicited messages (spam), especially advertising, as well as sending messages repeatedly on the same site. an actual user invited you to a game on your wall, not an electronic messaging system... for someone with 125 tabs of wall posts, you sure don't seem to understand how it works...
good luck with your basic understanding of the internet and how it works, so sorry... they probably saw you were online, recognized your name and invited you... it had nothing to do with CC auto spamming your wall to have you grace the game with your presence... you sure do have an inflated sense of self, and that is coming from me, the black jesus... sigh...-Jésus noir

But it is still not unlimited like our walls. Or our E-mail accounts. Just one more backward thing on C.C...SURPRISE .....Just delete them Willie,it just takes a second. It's a rare case when I get a wall notification, so when I do i have to admit I get a bit excited to see who took time out of their day to go through the trouble of writing me a message. Ill let you imagine the amount of dissapointment I feel when I check it and see some battle Royale wall spam that was obviously some sort of mass campaign to get people to play battle royales. The more this occours, the more excitement it will drain when I notice a wall post. If it occours too often, I may tend to stop checking them. Alltogether, possibly missing a friendly greeting from a kind e-soul that in turn will result in less e-friends. This happens enough with the decline hitting a new gear after a stark upburst over the holidays.
Im not against it, its just ive gotten two useless wall posts this week, and im just wondering if I have to just keep dealing with it, or is there somewhere I can go to opt out?

There is an easy way to opt out. You message the guy you are not interested and if he cant send you that message the next time. Since I was one of the guys who tried to get these games underway, there have been a couple of guys who sended me such message. I stopped sending those the messages, also Confederate had on his wall that you had to PM him. So I PM'd him as he asked.
So maybe instead of starting a forum post on spam whatever, just message them back!? Say you are not interested? Probably takes up less time also!

boberz wrote:I liked the wall spam got me involved in some mini royales. I remember the days when I couldn't get in a royale for love nor money they were much rarer and filled up almost immediately. Much larger than this. People would come on the forums begging admins to set up a new royale. Oh the good old days (almost probably with exageration and nostalgia thrown in.)

I believed Koganosi and I were the only "wall spammer". And it was only because we were quite desperate to see the Battle Royale fill.
And I doubt I'll remember not to wall you next time there is Battle Royale speed to play so sorry in advance

There was another spammer as well, and what really urged me to start this topic was as I was viewing a friends wall to make a wall post, I noticed another spammer had spammed his/her wall. Which led me to believe this was fixing to be a month, or at least week/s long ordeal. This is why I didnt simply ask one spammer to not spam me anymore as konanski suggested.
Also, you can read my first post again and take relief in noting that I also stated I wasnt totally against spam, I just didnt want to keep recieving them. I know spam is an effectove advertising tool as annoying as it is. And I know the people who like to play the battle royals really need those speed royals to start too.
Apology accepted in advance when you "forget" to not spam my wall in the future.

I haven't participated much in posting on walls this event, but most of the time fanatic BR players like Koga just go to the forum and wall every 'active online user'.

BrutalBob wrote:Just for the record the definition of spam that owen posted would identify the wall invite as spam. It is an unsolicited message delivered via an electronic message system. The definition doesn't say that it has to be computer generated. It says a message sent using electronic message system such as email, but would include forums, walls, sms etc.
It is often automatically generated, processed or sent, but doesn't have to be to fit the definition of spam.
BTW, I like getting these invites, so no problem from me, but it is technically spam.
