I got it pretty frequently for quite a while, typically in the midst of moving from one phase to another or doing an attack. Decently annoying.

Would it be fair to say that what we have here is a failure to communicate?

If you're recognising a problem can you confirm the team is looking into this? Or is it a case of server cuts at the top end which won't be disclosed for obvious reasons.

I am getting it heaps recently. Used to be fairly infrequent but at various times it happens a lot. Sometimes on a speed game every turn for periods of about 20 - 30 minutes

I've been a paying member for a couple of years now, and this problem is getting worse and worse. I'm not a geek, so I don't have a fucking clue as to what causes it, let alone how to fix it. I empty my cookies regularly etc etc, but it makes no difference.

I've just given up a speed game where this was happening so much I couldn't complete my turns. If I wanted this level of frustration, I'd work longer hours rather than sign in here.

Un-be-fucking-lievable that there is NO response from the management regarding this.

Perhaps the customer service department have that stupid fucking circling thing too, so they are unable to respond?

Still - at least they have my money already. Not quite the product I thought I was buying, but there ya go. I guess consumer content is low on the old priorities list here.

Pussies. When I was in China I would get this error constantly, so much so that a few of my turns on larger games took me about nearly 30 minutes to complete. Now I still get it, but much more rarely.

Ive had it on and off.

Havent seen it for quite some time except for a very occasional glitch.

This weekend its been heavy to unplayable.

At this point I get infrequent windows where I can get something accomplished.

Often we are talking seconds before it goes back to taking forever to load a page, most of the time only loading some of the page. Most of the time it eventually comes up with the no communication, please refresh. Sometimes it seemingly just stalls with a page half loaded.

It takes 10 minutes+ to do a turn in a game.

Ill write down the cache dumping advice above, but Id appreciate any suggestions as to what I can do to alleviate or minimize the problem.

(copy, expecting to paste when this page probably doesnt load properly with submit ;-))

Management does not normally visit the forums. The forums are primarily here for our amusement. If you have an issue you want to discuss with management, they are very responsive, usually, but through opening an eticket: http://support.conquerclub.com/ Or, for more general reporting of bugs, go to the Bugs forum, which is the one forum that does normally get checked every day by an admin.

Just like real life, there's a finite number of times you can complain to your boss about something before he starts to ignore you, so you pick your battles carefully. I have about twelve things I need to hassle BW about this week, and I think the most I can get away with is about three, so I will very carefully pick which three of the twelve I want to address.

I have brought to admins attention various issues raised in the forums, but general complaining about the bad linkups are not specific enough for that kind of special treatment. You know they would fix the lag if they could. It's probably the number one thing that BW does work on in between launching new projects, but for whatever technical reasons there's no easy solution. If you do have specific technical information bring them to the Bugs forum and provide as much data as you can.

If you want personal attention to your problem, there are etickets for customers who wish to complain. They don't go through mods and go directly to admins. Use them. This forum is for venting and debating.

Hmmmm

Well after talking to a friend that knows about pings and dos-prompts, I went and checked the status of my netprovider and there have been some upgrades and general works during the last 4 or 5 days that have assembled various problems with users.

After booting my modem, wireless, system, pc, various cords, outlets and such and jumping up and down on the modem a bit for good measure... what do you know. Everything suddenly works.

I write this not just because I feel a bit silly - I do -, but because it may help other people that have simply assumed that some nameless computer spirit was out to get them for no particular reason....

as this was by no means a very local problem.

This will in fact have affected Denmark and pretty much all Danish nets. At least I think so. Fullrate is my provider which is (now) owned by TDC, so I think I can fairly safely say that it was TDC that updated and upgraded .... stuff.

TDC owns 80 or 90 % of all land lines, towers and what not in Denmark.

It is also possible that other providers have decided to play with peoples connections in other countries without actually telling anyone about it, except in a small link on their page that only loads visibly 1 in 50 times as long as you have the problem.

In any case, my low-tech advice to others who might have my general response of growling loudly at the screen, then shouting and then forming a John Cleese fist in an extremely threatening (no it does not look silly at all!) gesture at the screen... Well kill all the power to everything including the small ugly boxes that you usually never cut the power to or acknowledge if you can help it. Start up everything slowly. - Modem first, then wait for a long damn time untill the little voodoo lights on it seem fairly stable and have stopped dancing and changing uncontrollably. Then turn on the wireless and wait for several damn minutes again. Then turn on the pc while doing the special good luck dance with the maraccas and pineapple skirt.

Regards and good luck

Tviorr.

Yeah right. E-tickets are just a way to take the issue out of the public fora so it can be ignored more easily. My e-ticket exchanges have basically consisted of me being told to get lost.

I can only speak for myself, but mine havent.

I did have a problem where support ran their head into a wall and couldnt figure what caused it. It was general massive lag and endless looping. - I only got it on Conquerclub pages and only on my computer. - Other computers would work fine(ish) and when support logged in on my account they couldnt recreate the problem in any browser.

Never did get figured out, but support did spend a lot of time trying although it clearly was some sort of miscommunication between the specific pc and cc.

Fortunately it suddenly up and sorted itself out never to be heard from again. - Whether an upgrade in cc or an update in some program in my computer sorted it or what happened remains a mystery, but support was always cordial to me and tried their best to help. - Come to think of it, I was always cordial to them. - Possibly that would be a strategy? ;-)

I mostly get this error when I am playing on my tablet. With all the other annoying things that happen when playing on a mobile platform, this one gets lost in the clutter. But just to put it on record, yes it happens frequently in my tablet. If the other stuff gets fixed, I won't care about this one. Of course I don't play speed games, where it would obviously be annoying.
