FF 8 - does greasemonkey work?

Postby General Roy on Thu Nov 17, 2011 4:12 pm

Suddenly today (17 November) just out of the blue, CC started totally to misbehave, and I now see that the installed greasemonkey scripts, no longer appear in the Menu bar to the left in CC. I've tried to remove Firefox 8 and install FF7 again, but to no avail. Does greasemonkey no longer work with FF, or is there some solution someone knows about?

For one thing, I'd like to have the chat above the map rather than at the bottom, and I also would like to have BOB, map rank and attack odds appear again.

I couldn't find a way to make Greasemonkey work with FF8. I've had enough of all the updates and switched to Chrome.
Important Tournament Notice

The data for ALL of my tournaments has potentially been lost. I am working to recover it but as I am away on business all of this week, there will be some delay. Sincere apologies.

Make sure your Greasemonkey is up to date.

As that was one of the first things I tried, there must be something else basic wrong in my upset.

I've cleaned out Firefox and reinstalled it (v. 7, to be safe), and will try to reinstall greasemonkey and the scripts. Will see if that solves it.

Reinstalling FF7 fixed it. I'm not sure I want to try FF8 for the time being, just in case the problem reappears.

I'm using FF8 right now and have no problems with greasemonkey or any of the scripts. The only thing that happened during the update was that I had to update my addons and also turn greasemonkey back on but everything seems to be working fine.

Hm. I thought greasemonkey was turned on, but perhaps it wasn't after all. Reinstalling should have turned it on for me, should it not?

I would think so... but like I said mine is running fine Help - About Firefox gives me "Firefox 8.0 Firefox is up to date" so I'm absolutely sure about the version...

and I'm using

BOB, clickies, tournament stats, and maprank all of which were used today

It might turn it off if your version is old or incompatible. Better check it manually.
