Fun Facts
First things first, I must change a Fun Fact from last week. I had said Bones2484 had won 10 tournaments, yet it was BaldAdonis. I don’t understand why I’m always mixing them up.
Standard tournaments are completely outranking any other – it has 200 complete -- Doubles is in second with only 37.
Gozar’s The Long Walk has been running for over a year – and doesn’t show any sign of finishing any time soon!

Q: Hello, drake_259.

Q:How did you find this website?
A:I searched it on google
Q: Why did you join CC?
A:I played with my dad once and enjoyed it, but I had no one to play with so I searched for it until I hit this.
Q:Why did you start to play tournaments?
A:I wanted to try them out
Q:What made you want to start running tournaments?
A: I guess the same as above I just wanted to try them out
Q: How long have you been organizing tournaments?
A:Since Friday June 13, 2008 1:01 am
Q:What tournament did you first run?
A:DC Vs. Marvel
Q: Where did you come up with your tournament ideas?
A: The just come to me when I'm either playing a game or something that occurs to me in real life
Q: Who do you look to for inspiration when organizing your tournaments?
A:Poptart
, and also from a few others like Marfski and amazzony
Q: Describe the experience of your first tournament ran, and first played in.
A:DC Vs. Marvel is going really smoothly which is great and i have had no drop outs, i think because it was running so smoothly which wanted me too go on making more tourneys.
Q: How many tournaments have you run already, and do you have a goal in mind for how many you want to run in total before you "retire"? How many are you running right now?
A:None completed but i have 3 ongoing,
Q:What tournaments have you organized?
A:DC vs. Marvel, 1v1 Elimination and 13
Q:What is your favourite tournament you have run?
A:Well it depends on what about it, DCvM because it has been running smoothly, 1v1 Elimination because your working with stats, and 13 which is my fav, because if there is a certain amount of people who have been eliminated you have to search the logs for it, and you're in the games more often.
Q: What is your favorite tournament you’ve played in? Why?
A:Don't take too long, but I think that's because I won it. My true favorite will have to be Norses' Football Hooligan tournament
Q:Do you prefer to run or enter tournaments?
A:Both, because they each have a different atmosphere
Q: Is there a specific type of format that you tend to gravitate towards? Why? Is there a format that is your favourite?
A: Sequential, Chained, No Cards
Q: Do you find it easier to choose tournament settings yourself, or to let the players customize them?
A:I'll choose them myself, but if I or a player thinks there's something wrong with the tournament, I'll stick up a poll and get the majority vote, unless its the early stages and there's no need for one.
Q: Overall, are you playing a lot in tournaments? If not, then why and where do you find your games to play?
A: Let's just say I have 30 games going, 25 of them are tournaments
Q: How excited where you with your first CC win?
A:lol let me tell you something, I have a brilliant short-term memory(e.g. I can remember 30 on simon), but my long term is as bad as a fishes short-term so I don't have a clue
Q:Have you ever won a tournament?
A:Yes, Don't take too Long
Q: What is your most disappointing tournament loss to date?
A:I'm not sure what it's called but I lost to MEK
and I had got to the semi-finals and this was before I had won Don't take too Long.
Q: In your mind, what makes a successful tournament?
A:An organizer who keeps the players updated and stays natural
Q: What do you consider to be the most successful tournaments you've seen run?
A:Football Hooligan Tournament
Q: What is the best Tournament that you think has been underestimated?
A:My tournament 21 lol, I thought it was a such a great idea and not one player signed up but I guess players don't like to focus on much except from winning.
Q:Have you ever been disappointed in a tournament you have run? What about one you entered?
A:Nothing except 21 and there have been a few that I have enter that were bad, World War 3 was the worst, loads of people were dropping out because the organizer wasn't keeping the players updated
Q: What makes a successful organizer?
A:Who keeps the players updated and keeps track of the games on their own rather than getting the players to do it, as some of us forget about it as we play so many games (myself, I'm always just checking the games even though I know there not finished.)
Q: How do you attract players to your tournament, and what aspect (besides a reward of a premium prize or something like that) of a tournament do you think appeals to a lot of players and why?
A:Put it in my signature and bump the hell out of it lol. And its the layout that appeals to people, I mean I joined the Mario 64 tournament because it has a brilliant layout, but I didn't like the formats and maps that where in it
Q: Is there anything in particular that you dislike about tournament organizing?
A: Keeping track of deadbeaters
Q: For you, what is the best part of being a tournament organizer?
A:Getting to see the whole view of the tournament instead of one part
Q: What mistakes do you see tournament organizers make the most?
A:Not using [Game][/Game.] (I admit I didn't use this either lol, I just thought organizers used the URL, lol I gave them a lot of credit then)
Q: With experience comes the wisdom of knowing what mistakes you've made in the past so you can avoid them in the future. What mistakes have you made in your tournaments that you are sure to avoid in future tournaments?
A: Not using the [Game][/Game.] and try and keep the thread laid out well, with pretty colours to bring in the customers
Q:What is your opinion on organizer neutrality? Should organizers be allowed to place themselves against their own clanmates in tournaments? Should organizers be allowed to join their own tournaments at all?
A:Yeah clan mates should be able to join but they must be equal to everyone else unless stated otherwise. They should be able too because we then get both atmosphere of the tournament.
Q: Do you use a "schedule" for updating your tournaments, or do you just wait until they need an update?
A:I update them when they need to be
Q:Should “question marks” be allowed to join tournaments?
A:I had two in my tournament 13, one deadbeated and the other joined, but I think they shouldn't join as they should play a few more games on public before they join as otherwise they would be playing on maps they couldn't even think about, but that's there choice too make so if they want in, they can have in, but as I said I do recommend them playing more games first.
Q:Do you feel it is better to give a bye to players whose opponents deadbeats the tournament, or to use a reserve?
A:If its late in the tournament then yeah, because its more unfair sticking a replacement in the semi-finals when they did no work too get there, but if its a 4 player tournament I would just change the settings to 3 players etc
Q: If you could change one thing about Conquer Club in general, what would it be?
A:I would get the old feedback system back. I hate the new one lol
Q: If there was something that the Conquer Club administrators could implement into the game to make tournaments easier to manage, what would it be? Similarly, is there anything you would like to see taken away from Conquer Club to make running tournaments easier?
A: Have sections for the games and when you enter a game have it open a new window.
Q: If you are thinking purely on balance of tournament games is there anything you would want changing?
A:Not what I know of.
Q: Is there anything that you would recommend to encourage new tournament organizers?
A:Use the [Game][/Game.] I can't brag enough about this, it makes the players life so much easier and they would be more likely to join your future tournaments.
Q: List your top 5 biggest tournament headache's to this point
A:
1.deadbeats
2.people not using [Game][/Game.]
3.bad layout
4.asking the players to keep track of their own games
5.Freestyle
Q:How much time does CC take from your day?
A:Every fortnight weekends 1-3 hours, any other day I could take up up 15 hours lol, that's if cc is lucky
Q:Are you a member of any clans or usergroups?
A:Marvel/DC Heroes, Mythology and Cinemaddict
Q: Why did you pick the name drake_259?
A:It goes back to when I was in year 8 which was about 4 years ago, I used to play a game called battlefield 1942 in a school club, I chose that name because I loved dragons, and I used that for everything until I started play runescape, and the characters are limited to 10 so I had to shorten my name, so I chose drake and added _ and a few random numbers
Q:Where are you from?
A:England, East London
Q:Favourite play colour?
A:Red because it stands out for me the most
Q: Who is your favorite tournament organizer (excluding yourself)?
A:poptartpsycho18
Q: Who is your favorite tournament director?
A:Optimus Prime or Night Strike, please don't make me choose
Q:Favourite and least favourite map?
A:Iceland (thanks Rj) and New world, i hate AOR, AOM, waterloo and anything else like that
Q:Favourite settings?
A:Chained, No cards (Iceland: Sunny) (New World: Foggy)
Q:Freestyle or sequential?
A:Sequential but I'm trying to learn freestyle at the moment
Q: Any tournaments planned for the future? What are they?
A: Well people are trying to do these tournaments where people choose a country and fight for them, I will take this challenge on and try to make it work (keep and eye out for it their will be a fat juicy years premium prize)

Q:How did you find this website?
A:I searched it on google
Q: Why did you join CC?
A:I played with my dad once and enjoyed it, but I had no one to play with so I searched for it until I hit this.
Q:Why did you start to play tournaments?
A:I wanted to try them out
Q:What made you want to start running tournaments?
A: I guess the same as above I just wanted to try them out
Q: How long have you been organizing tournaments?
A:Since Friday June 13, 2008 1:01 am
Q:What tournament did you first run?
A:DC Vs. Marvel
Q: Where did you come up with your tournament ideas?
A: The just come to me when I'm either playing a game or something that occurs to me in real life
Q: Who do you look to for inspiration when organizing your tournaments?
A:Poptart
, and also from a few others like Marfski and amazzonyQ: Describe the experience of your first tournament ran, and first played in.
A:DC Vs. Marvel is going really smoothly which is great and i have had no drop outs, i think because it was running so smoothly which wanted me too go on making more tourneys.
Q: How many tournaments have you run already, and do you have a goal in mind for how many you want to run in total before you "retire"? How many are you running right now?
A:None completed but i have 3 ongoing,
Q:What tournaments have you organized?
A:DC vs. Marvel, 1v1 Elimination and 13
Q:What is your favourite tournament you have run?
A:Well it depends on what about it, DCvM because it has been running smoothly, 1v1 Elimination because your working with stats, and 13 which is my fav, because if there is a certain amount of people who have been eliminated you have to search the logs for it, and you're in the games more often.
Q: What is your favorite tournament you’ve played in? Why?
A:Don't take too long, but I think that's because I won it. My true favorite will have to be Norses' Football Hooligan tournament
Q:Do you prefer to run or enter tournaments?
A:Both, because they each have a different atmosphere
Q: Is there a specific type of format that you tend to gravitate towards? Why? Is there a format that is your favourite?
A: Sequential, Chained, No Cards
Q: Do you find it easier to choose tournament settings yourself, or to let the players customize them?
A:I'll choose them myself, but if I or a player thinks there's something wrong with the tournament, I'll stick up a poll and get the majority vote, unless its the early stages and there's no need for one.
Q: Overall, are you playing a lot in tournaments? If not, then why and where do you find your games to play?
A: Let's just say I have 30 games going, 25 of them are tournaments
Q: How excited where you with your first CC win?
A:lol let me tell you something, I have a brilliant short-term memory(e.g. I can remember 30 on simon), but my long term is as bad as a fishes short-term so I don't have a clue
Q:Have you ever won a tournament?
A:Yes, Don't take too Long
Q: What is your most disappointing tournament loss to date?
A:I'm not sure what it's called but I lost to MEK
and I had got to the semi-finals and this was before I had won Don't take too Long.Q: In your mind, what makes a successful tournament?
A:An organizer who keeps the players updated and stays natural
Q: What do you consider to be the most successful tournaments you've seen run?
A:Football Hooligan Tournament
Q: What is the best Tournament that you think has been underestimated?
A:My tournament 21
lol, I thought it was a such a great idea and not one player signed up but I guess players don't like to focus on much except from winning.Q:Have you ever been disappointed in a tournament you have run? What about one you entered?
A:Nothing except 21
and there have been a few that I have enter that were bad, World War 3 was the worst, loads of people were dropping out because the organizer wasn't keeping the players updatedQ: What makes a successful organizer?
A:Who keeps the players updated and keeps track of the games on their own rather than getting the players to do it, as some of us forget about it as we play so many games (myself, I'm always just checking the games even though I know there not finished.)
Q: How do you attract players to your tournament, and what aspect (besides a reward of a premium prize or something like that) of a tournament do you think appeals to a lot of players and why?
A:Put it in my signature and bump the hell out of it lol. And its the layout that appeals to people, I mean I joined the Mario 64 tournament because it has a brilliant layout, but I didn't like the formats and maps that where in it
Q: Is there anything in particular that you dislike about tournament organizing?
A: Keeping track of deadbeaters
Q: For you, what is the best part of being a tournament organizer?
A:Getting to see the whole view of the tournament instead of one part
Q: What mistakes do you see tournament organizers make the most?
A:Not using [Game][/Game.] (I admit I didn't use this either lol, I just thought organizers used the URL, lol I gave them a lot of credit then)
Q: With experience comes the wisdom of knowing what mistakes you've made in the past so you can avoid them in the future. What mistakes have you made in your tournaments that you are sure to avoid in future tournaments?
A: Not using the [Game][/Game.] and try and keep the thread laid out well, with pretty colours to bring in the customers
Q:What is your opinion on organizer neutrality? Should organizers be allowed to place themselves against their own clanmates in tournaments? Should organizers be allowed to join their own tournaments at all?
A:Yeah clan mates should be able to join but they must be equal to everyone else unless stated otherwise. They should be able too because we then get both atmosphere of the tournament.
Q: Do you use a "schedule" for updating your tournaments, or do you just wait until they need an update?
A:I update them when they need to be
Q:Should “question marks” be allowed to join tournaments?
A:I had two in my tournament 13, one deadbeated and the other joined, but I think they shouldn't join as they should play a few more games on public before they join as otherwise they would be playing on maps they couldn't even think about, but that's there choice too make so if they want in, they can have in, but as I said I do recommend them playing more games first.
Q:Do you feel it is better to give a bye to players whose opponents deadbeats the tournament, or to use a reserve?
A:If its late in the tournament then yeah, because its more unfair sticking a replacement in the semi-finals when they did no work too get there, but if its a 4 player tournament I would just change the settings to 3 players etc
Q: If you could change one thing about Conquer Club in general, what would it be?
A:I would get the old feedback system back. I hate the new one lol
Q: If there was something that the Conquer Club administrators could implement into the game to make tournaments easier to manage, what would it be? Similarly, is there anything you would like to see taken away from Conquer Club to make running tournaments easier?
A: Have sections for the games and when you enter a game have it open a new window.
Q: If you are thinking purely on balance of tournament games is there anything you would want changing?
A:Not what I know of.
Q: Is there anything that you would recommend to encourage new tournament organizers?
A:Use the [Game][/Game.] I can't brag enough about this, it makes the players life so much easier and they would be more likely to join your future tournaments.
Q: List your top 5 biggest tournament headache's to this point
A:
1.deadbeats
2.people not using [Game][/Game.]
3.bad layout
4.asking the players to keep track of their own games
5.Freestyle
Q:How much time does CC take from your day?
A:Every fortnight weekends 1-3 hours, any other day I could take up up 15 hours lol, that's if cc is lucky
Q:Are you a member of any clans or usergroups?
A:Marvel/DC Heroes, Mythology and Cinemaddict
Q: Why did you pick the name drake_259?
A:It goes back to when I was in year 8 which was about 4 years ago, I used to play a game called battlefield 1942 in a school club, I chose that name because I loved dragons, and I used that for everything until I started play runescape, and the characters are limited to 10 so I had to shorten my name, so I chose drake and added _ and a few random numbers
Q:Where are you from?
A:England, East London
Q:Favourite play colour?
A:Red because it stands out for me the most
Q: Who is your favorite tournament organizer (excluding yourself)?

A:Optimus Prime or Night Strike, please don't make me choose
Q:Favourite and least favourite map?
A:Iceland (thanks Rj) and New world, i hate AOR, AOM, waterloo and anything else like that
Q:Favourite settings?
A:Chained, No cards (Iceland: Sunny) (New World: Foggy)
Q:Freestyle or sequential?
A:Sequential but I'm trying to learn freestyle at the moment
Q: Any tournaments planned for the future? What are they?
A: Well people are trying to do these tournaments where people choose a country and fight for them, I will take this challenge on and try to make it work (keep and eye out for it their will be a fat juicy years premium prize)
