This pm was sent to The Top Ten Clan leaders :
Hiya All,
I have decided to create a little competition between the Top Ten clans on Conquer Club. By Top Ten I mean the ten clans that have registered their clan in the The Best Clan - POINT RANKINGS thread.
Its going to work like this:
Any clan challenge that has taken place since the start of 2008 and after will count. If your Team wins they will receive points for doing so. These points are then added to a league table and the clan with more points will be at the top of the table and so on.
Points are calculated as follows ; (loser score/winner score)*20, for each challenge. And all teams start with 1000 points.
*Its up to Clans to make and manage their own clan challenges and then post their victories in the appoprite thread.

again, just keep clan records here in separate thread, do not add points, we all see the scoreboard, just keep the record like clan a is 2-0 or whatever
example THOTA 3-0
beat clans of untouchables, bushwackers, dragoons, and tied dragoons, so 3-0-1
and no jr tigertribe was not a clan and most our members knew nothing of it, that was more a few players vs a few players

i agree, or perhaps just keep a table of which clans have battled who, and who won, i dont know if making it some sort of 'league' really translates well. it would require a uniform challenge setup which is practically impossible.

You never beat the untouchables in a clan challenge!!! Dont know why u keep saying that. bushwackers arent in the top ten and you guys drew with the dragoons!!
again the tigertribe arent in the top ten.

As long as its over 40 games i think they should all be recorded. But anyways of the 10 clans only 3 have responded!!

so a challenge has to be at least 40 games in order to count? and why arent the bushwackers on the list? and why does the clan have to be in the list? why not just put all clans on the list, and just record wins and details.

I'm going to have to respectively decline the invite to commit Generation One to this league, for a number of reasons:
1. I think the scoring system you have set up is not going to be a very good reflection on how the clans stack up against one another. I'm not sure exactly the best way to do it would be, but I think an ideal system would include more than just one factor. Possibly total clan challenge game wins, losses, challenge wins, etc. I'm not much of a numbers guy though, so I couldn't tell you the best way to go about doing it.
2. Ranking the clans to begin with according to player score is completely lopsided in my opinion. Those individual players reached those scores in so many different ways that to be honest, player score is not really a good way to separate clans. I mean for all we know my lower ranked G1 teams could kick the pants off of THOTA someday, but then get soundly beaten by The Untouchables two weeks later playing against player of the same rank.
3. In order for the League to have any chance of sorting clans by skill "as a clan" there must be a set format for the clan challenges. You can't have one challenge of all doubles games stacking up against challenges of triples/quads or singles games. It won't show you who is actually better than anyone else. You need a controlled format that everyone is forced to use in order to have a basis to gauge the performance of each clan.
You've done an awesome job of getting this thing started, hulmey, I just think it needs a bit more polishing before it will be where you really want it to be.

I concur with much the Optimus Prime has said.
Unless there is a consistent definition of what constitutes "a clan challenge" then this will not get the level of buy in it needs (which is the majority, if not all, of the clans posted in the other thread).
What I do agree with though is using a scoring system on a per-clan basis, and staring with everyone at the same point.

The scoring system is the same scoring system as CC employs at the moment.

Hmm, yes I see were your coming from but most clans us the same system and that is starting 20 games each. I think its going to be nearly impossible to get all clans to use the same format!!

Finally, I think this is just abit of fun but it seems and would work well in its current format but......

I only want serious clans on the list. How many clan tournaments have started and all the smaller clans bailed and screwed up the tournaments format?

but this isnt a tournament is it? not really a league either unless there is some sort of rudimentary guidelines for how challenges are done. seems this whole concept is strange. why not just use this as a place to keep records of who beats who, instead of trying to turn it into something that nobody is interested in.

ok, if your not trying to just keep records, then you are trying to do some sort of intra-mural competition right?

I dont think they were declining but merely trying to guide the idea into the direction it has to go. I have received a few pm's that have expressed interest in such an idea but it seems that they all want it to turn into a Tournament!!
Which im not prepared to do coz i spend too much time on CC as it is.
Thanks for your constructive critisicm everyone and Good Luck in your battles
