Plz pm me if something needs to be changed.
I thought twill's was a bit of a rush put together so i made a more detailed one
Here is what Twill has to say
Twill wrote:Some clans are all about the challenges, others are not. This forum is for those clans who are.
If you think your clan has what it takes, make a challenge here.
Open challenges, specific challenges, leagues, cherry spitting contests. If it involves who has the larger dice, start it here.
Couple of quick suggestions -
Make it clear who is challenging whomWe will beat you!
This doesn't mean much and might not get the attention of those you want it to.THOTA challenges The Untouchables to Feudal War domination!
This gets the message across faster, and might attract the Dragoons to jump in.
Throw the current record in there[5-1]Pleasant Chaps have bigger balls than the BulletProof Bandits
If you're winning, let people know
Use 1 thread for each challenge
The more challenges, the more exposure you get, but if you start 10 threads for 1 challenge, it's just going to annoy people and they will probably just get merged
Have fun
Why else are you here?
Let the banter begin

Here is is what i have to say.
Clan Challenges: Behind the Scenes/ Preparing for War
Step 1 The challenge
A clan Leader issues a challenge to another clan. The opposing clan can either accept or deny the challenge.
Then The clan leaders collaborate on the details of the clan challenge. For example Number of Games in the challenge (Minimum is 20) types of games, and settings of the games, what games will be considered home and away.
If you are the challenger you should have your team(s) ready to go and know what map settings you want.
If you are the Challengee you need to know at all times who you will send out to play and what maps you need to have in the challenge.
Remember: The challenger always has the advantage of preparing for the challenge before announcing it.
To avoid a surprise challenge keep your clan sharp and ready to go.
The matches should be divided in half (in a 20 game challenge 10 would be home and 10 would be away)
Usually you get to choose your home games map and settings.
Clan Challenges: War Time
Now that both clan leaders have agreed on game types, number of games, and decided who will be sent to battle it's time for the games for begin.
By now you or the opposing clan leader should have put a thread in the http://www.conquerclub.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=274
here is what it should look like:

Also you should keep the thread title updated. For Example:
Agents of Chaos v.s. Legion of the Damned (10-10)
Post whether YOUR game was one or lost and also post the game number(s)
Clan Challenges: Post War; Licking your Wounds
After all games are finished tally up the final score and put it in the title or your thread on who one and the score.
you or the other clan leader should then contact the following people.
MarVal he will archive your challenge and put in the following thread: http://www.conquerclub.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=274&t=64025
Jpcloet he will update the standings in the following thread: http://www.conquerclub.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=274&t=65969
What Jp has to say
jpcloet wrote:This is a good start, the Clan Directors are working on a clan handbook that will be stickied.
Other things to consider:
Clan challenges should be issued first by pm before announced publicly. Often clans will already have their next challenge lined up so you may have to wait. The public thread should simply be a confirmation of all items agreed to. A standard challenge pm format has been discussed.
There is no minimum challenge size. 20 is the current requirement to be included in the Unofficial clan ladder.
The challenge threads take all shapes and forms and more clans are using the format which continues to evolve eg.
Legends of War vs Legion of the Damned [15-15] of 50
and
Legends of War vs Legion of the Damned [25-25] FINAL
The one thing that I would like to see added is:
1. The first few posts should detail who the primary and secondary contacts for both clans are in the challenge.
2. Once the games are decided upon, say 20 doubles each, to formalize a time line for delivering the games.
Eg. LOD 10 doubles by Jan 17th, 2009 and 10 doubles by Jan 31st, 2009
3. Both sides don't have to bring the same games to the table. Often you see something like 20 doubles each. A few challenges have seen mixed setups like
5 Singles5 (Best of 5 1v1)
1 Doubles
1 Triples
1 Quads
and 7 other "Team Games" to be determined at the discretion of the home team.
4. The common method is 1 point per game or 1 point per Singles5. Get creative, there have been a few games where the games are worth more or less
5. Be flexible in your agreements. Having a fixed roster has not worked well in the past. However, having 1 or 2 players play in most games reduces the feel of a clan war versus the feel of a personal army.
6. Realize that mistakes happen and learn from them. I've created Standard games that were supposed to be doubles. Games have expired and had to be recreated.
That's all I got for now. More to come....
