What: Team Tournament

This was previously mentioned in the CAT forum and many of you had interest. Here is the official rollout. Join in this thread and player details will be worked out on a per clan basis.

Number of players: 16 players who are currently unaffiliated with a clan
Rounds: 4

Round 1-3: Round Robin
Players are randomly placed into 4 player divisions for first two rounds, are then split into 8 player divisions for round 3, by seed
Round 4: Championship Matchup

Round 1 - Three games in a single set
- 3 games per player
- Triples, Classic, No Spoils, Fog, Chained
- Each player is randomly assigned to a clan
- Each clan assigns players to play Round 1 games
- Each "team" plays 3 games simultaneously, 1 vs each player in their division

Round 2 - Six games played in two sets
- 6 games per player
- Each player is randomly assigned to a clan for each opponent
- Two games vs each player in division
- One home map and settings chosen by each player for home matchup - so you will submit a map/settings prior to this round and you'll have 3 games on that map/settings and 3 games on your opponent's map settings for a total of 4 different maps/settings

Round 3 - Seven games played in two sets
- One matchup vs each player, total of 7 games per player

Round 3 Maps/Settings - These are all popular maps and settings from Clan League 12 Premier Division
Third Crusade - Trips, NS, F, Tr, C
Feudal Epic - Quads, E, F, P
Pot Mosbi - Quads, NS, F, C
Baltic Crusades - Trips, NS, F, Tr, C
KC2 - Dubs, NS, F, Tr, C
Spanish Armada - Trip, NS, F, C
USA 2.1 - Quads, NS, F, Tr, C

Round 4 - Five games played in two sets
- Finals - Players with the 2 best winning % from first three rounds combined
- Players choose the clan they want to play with, #1 seed chooses first
- Each player chooses one maps and settings, third game is Classic, Fog, No Spoils, Chained

Winning Player: 600 credits and tournament medal
Winning Clan (Clan with the best win % overall):
- Bronze Plaque
- Each participating player who plays 2 or more games for the winning clan receives 100 credits and a clan achievement medal

Rules - There Aren't Many So Play Within Them

- Trench games have standard round limits - 20 quads/30 trips/50 dubs
- Clans can use as many players as they want, they can choose to assign players per game or the tournament director can simply assign from a list of players provided by the clan
- Tiebreaker for round robin will be head to head matchups first, then number of total rounds played in wins for the first two rounds combined, lowest total advances
- Disputes brought to the TD will result in expulsion of the tournament from all players involved so resolve them yourself like adults or simply play within the rules
- There is a 12 hour rule but it works exactly like this: If you are the second team to join and you start the game, you must either wait 12 hours to play your turn or wait for the other team to state that they have snapped. If you are the second team to join and you do not start, get your snap when you join. The other team has no obligation to wait for you.

Can you break this down from the perspective of a clan as well? I assume the clan-assigned players can change from game to game?

It looks like round 1 has a total of 16x3 teams to fill (16 unaffiliated players with 3 games each), meaning a maximum of 12 slots from each clan (assuming only 8 clans participate)? (That would be 6 triples games with one slot in each game filled by one of the unaffiliated players)
Round 2 will have twice as many games, which will be a combination of sizes, so up to 12 games per clan with 1-3 slots to fill in each game?
Round 3 is up to 14 games per clan with 1-3 slots to fill.
Not entirely clear on round 4.

Hard to say until there is a final number of clans involved. But I think your breakdown is correct.

Round 1: 16 players, 3 games per player so a total of 24 games with 96 clan slots so yes, 8 clans is 12 slots per clan

Round 2: Yes, max of double round 1 so potentially 192 clan slots

Round 3: You are correct.

Round 4: It's 5 games total, two clans. One is trips classic the other 4 are chosen by the players.

You can do whatever you want with your players, there is no preset list, there are no rules, no maximums. Same 3 players can play every game if you want. You can assign them, they can be randomly drawn if you don't want any responsibility, you can say these are the two trips players, these are the three quads players and this is our dubs player, etc. You won't have to make games, you won't have to choose games.

We are doing good with, at any given time, a core of about 16 active players having fun .. and winning...in competitive team games- with maps, settings and mates they like and can work with and have fun with.. We could use a few more mates we can work with and have fun with and they can work with us and have fun with us. and win with us.

My read is the ideal roster for RGV, or other clans, would be between 16 and 20 active players at any given time, Enough active mates you can handle a steady stream of games through prolonged events like a Clan League or Conquerors Cup, with the odd clan war thrown in when the timing is right and the mates want war

and if a mate wants to be inactive for a while, not accepting invites to games, because of game overload or real life, no probs. just let us know and we won't bug you with invites or PMs.But if at any time you want tobe active, you get invites to 1, 2 or more games on a steady basis. Competitive team games with maps, settings and mates you can work with and have fun with . and win.

keep in touch

Appreciate all that you have done, are doing and will do..

Working on generating interest. I'm walling and PMing unaffiliated members every day. I may have been kicked out of mod-world but I have not abandoned my desire to help out.
