Clans/Tribes?

I've read through both and can't tell the difference between a clan and a tribe. I know clans have been a long-standing feature since I joined more than 10 years ago?
Current tourneys -- Promontory Summit Best of 5, USA 2.1 Poly Best of 5, 2024 NCAA basketball season, 2024 Major League Soccer, NCAA football playoffs, 2024 NFL season.

clans are team games, tribes are 1 v1/poly games played within a team setting. Like team racing - each players wins count towards an overall score.

thank you for the clarification. I may try to set up a tribal tournament event in the near future.
