"Stealing"

Dearest Clan Leaders,

Please stop stealing from other clans. Not that I truly care, but what I DO care is the female-like drama that it creates/causes when players leave and I have to implore them as to why they chose to leave. I have had 3 members, one of which was a douchebag anyways (Brann2006) who left stating other reasons and within a week or so...they are suddenly in another clan. If anyone of you knows that they are currently in a clan and try to scout them from another clan - to you, I call you a dirtbag. Just tell me straight out instead of having to sneak around. The same holds true for players who decide their heart is elsewhere. Stop acting like such prissy drama queens and just simply tell the truth that you simply want to leave for another clan. Otherwise, the next time you see me in a game, I'm going to call you "Your Highness" every time I take my turn.

Who says any clan is actually "stealing" members? It is true that many players do leave clans they are in to join another clan, but without showing any specific clan leaders doing this, im not sure this claim holds much ground. Using the situation with LoW and TOFU, a lot of the best players left LoW to join others they knew in TOFU, and I have never heard anything scandalous going behind the scenes there...

But this is something that would probably best handled in private with either JP or MarVal, though im not sure what they could do here as it really isnt against any rules to recruit players already in a clan... I have recruited for LOD/AoD for quite some time and always make sure a player isnt in a clan already if i plan on recruiting them...

It sucks when that happens, but if they are going to leave and are not loyal then why have them in your clan?

Hey Owen do you want to join Mythology?? haha jk

Wish your clan the best mate

I have always felt that it is bad form to recruit from other clans. My best advice is to continue to make sure your members really want to stay. I actually make an effort once every 4-6 months to make sure I am re-recruiting my own clan mates. Respect your clan members and they will almost always stay. What makes your clan attractive to stay or join?

Now, I am assuming you are referring to Imperial Britain. Many of your members have left to go with their friends. I also notice that IB has not played in a war in some time and the last few had forfeited games.

I can see how "stealing" other clan's members to join another clan is not cool. However, players trade all the time. Heatz came to Nemesis from somewhere (I think AoD?), and at the same time, we lost Genoke and Queen_Iris to the Brethren. I do consider it bad form to try to recruit a player who are already a member of another clan, but if they choose to switch, what can you do?

well, for one, you can stop with "stripping just for you" show you have put last month... i told you Genoke is gone, but you kept insisting to put up a show, and what has happen?! HA went god knows in what forsaken place trying to forget what he just saw, queen_iris also left the clan and pmchugh decide CC is really not good place for sane person(luckily, it looks like he remembered he isnt sane, so he just might be back)... so next time, when player from Nemesis try to get out of clan, please leave your pants on.

I agree Owen

I just put together 25 players and was recruiting heavy but the first thing I looked at with all of them if they were in another clan. We dint ask any one from other clans I do not to loose players like that and I don’t want to gain them like that ether.

Now we did get a few from other clans I think 2 but they approached us because they played a lot with a lot of our members. if they approach us i don't think there is anything wrong with taking them then its like Gold Knight made a post in my recruiting forum about all his partners in trips joined my clan. now if he came to me asking in i would say drop your clan that your in and we will sign you up but that is up to him to come to us not for us to go after him that is just respectful. i am not sure is Gold Knight would meet the requirements any way so it is all mute lol.

I think we actually we recruiting a few of the same players I know I got one or two that you wanted you got 1 for sure that we were after but it will all work out in the long hall.

when every you are ready to sit down and talk clan challenge shoot me a PM

I would have to agree with most of the posts here on many different views. You can't keep someone who doesn't want to stay, but I personally, would never recruit from another clan. It's disrespectful in a way in my eyes. Why would you want to deliberately recruit someone knowing they are in an already established clan? But on the other hand, this game is like any sports league around the world, players come and go. While others spend their entire time in one place. If any of my members left for another clan, I would thank them for what they have done with us, and wish them the best wherever their future takes them. Life is too petty and short to get worked up over something so simple as this. There are lots of players out there, and lots of players to come. You can't win them all.

But... But... I can get my score up, and the ratings are a lie!!! All I need is a good teacher, and I feel your clan is the best fit for me!

A situation actually did come up right after i made my first post relating to this, but nothing happened so still dont see it as too big of an issue. Could always wage a cla war for the rights of the player if its agreed to, kind of like G1 stealing Strider24 and completely denying it!!!

Most people pay money to play and if a player doesn't wish to be in a particular clan why should they ruin their experience. I have learned that if a player doesn't want to be in my group or is disruptive that I should remove or evict them ASAP. Though it is usually best to try to part on good terms this is not always the case.

If I notice that one of my clan-mates are playing with a particular group on a regular basis and some of their regular mates are in a different clan I'll try to bring the group together. It makes sense to me have the set. Cohesiveness is instrumental is team games and familiarity causes cohesiveness.

Just my opinion, but If you have a good clan (that gets involved with all players and not just a few) then your players wont want to leave and if you have a player who does want leave, chances are that if that player respects his clan members he'll at least explain why he wishes to leave and give the clan a chance to win him back (if its because of a problem that can be resolved?) however if a player chooses to leave to play with another player on another clan then leave an open door policy for the player and who knows maybe he'll be back at your door step with a friend someday lol? things change here all the time cause were all free agents so form a clan with a good reputation, do a little advertising and they will come.

btw.... MasterGuns is currently on the open market for 7.5 million 4yrs, plus 3 Mill signing bonus. my agent tom cruise can be found at the nearest Scientology worship center. :D

And just for the record i took this challenge up, and am prepared to continue my domination over BSS... :D Just kidding, much respect for you guys.

And I think everyone covered it pretty well, its poor practice to recruit other clan members but it is up to the clan to make the players not want to leave.

And on one final note, if you are willing to bribe me with a steak dinner with all the trimmings and a case of beer, I'd be glad to talk 'business' with you. I also like boobies. A handful or so.

Bestiality is not morally wrong if the beast consents. There is still the moral grey area of consent, implied consent, conditioned behaviour etc. Teaching a parrot to say "yes please JefJef" does not really qualify as consent. Ooops my bad, wrong thread.

Clan member swapping/swinging. I think that many people want to be in clans with those they play with frequently. Over time as the maps/settings/number of games etc that a person plays change, so do those they play with, making a change of clans more likely. Not everyone can fit into the same jeans they wore in senior year, when they reach the ripe old age of 30. You may choose to let the jeans out at the waist a little to continue with familiar comfortable if slightly dated(think flairs/nehru suit) apparel. Or purchase jeans/pants more suitable for where you are in life right now.

You may be the same person at 500games, and at 5000games, but you might have vastly different expectations of what you desire in a clan.

I have standing offers from some clans to join them if I leave the Brethren. I have also told a select few that if they ever leave where they are, they are more than welcome aboard The Fat Mermaid. I don't think that is a bad thing, shows mutural respect. Actively seeking to recruit someone already in a clan is pretty low. As a clan leader I like to be able to ask the clan leader of someones previous clan about them, at the pirates we encourage people to finish any clanwars/tournament/clan league etc commitments at their old clan before joining us. People that leave on good terms and still talk to others are much more attractive, than those bitching about their old clan.
