show: General Layout
This will be a multi-clan, bracket style, single elimination clan war tournament. We are guessing the challenge will consist of 30-40 clans (possibly more). We will take however many sign up as long as they meet eligibility. Clans will be seeded before the tournament starts. Brackets will be a mix of seeded and random. Top 16 clans will be seeded. All others will be randomized. Participants in the CCup4 finals will be given a bye if they participate and are seeded in the Top 16. (So there will be 14 matches in the First Round.) If we have more than 32 clans sign up, then as many play-in games matches will take place as we need to get a 32 clan bracket by the randomized clans. The winner of the finals will be the winner of the Conqueror's Cup. The loser of the finals will take 2nd place. The two clans who lose the semi finals will play a clan war the same as the finals for 3rd place.
show: Seedings
After sign-ups conclude, seedings will be given out. The seedings will be determined by the latest F400 Rankings found here viewtopic.php?f=438&t=174424 .
show: Eligibility
Clan Eligibility To sign up for the Conqueror's Cup, each clan must meet the following criteria: Must be members of the CDF; and Must have demonstrated adequate ability to carry on a war (organizer experience, etc.)* *The CDs reserve the right to waive either or both of these requirements at their sole discretion.Player Eligibility We will be playing with an amended "cup tied" rule. The rules will be as follows: -If a player plays for a clan in a given round, they are cup-tied for that round and cannot play for another clan in that round -If the old clan of a player loses the round in which the player has played, that player is considered "eliminated" with their old clan and cannot play for another clan for the rest of the tournament -If the old clan of a player wins the last round in which the player has played with them, then they are not considered cup-tied at the conclusion of that war and are free to play with any other clan at the beginning of the next round of the tournament
show: Clan Wars
The play-in clan wars (games before the round of 32) as well as the first round of the Conqueror's Cup will use the following format: - 41 total games - 12 doubles - 14 triples - 14 quads - Each clan member can only participate in 15 games per clan war - The 41st game will be Trips on Classic, sunny, chained, no spoils (does not count toward player game maximum) Clan wars in the round of 16, the quarter finals, and the semi-finals of the Conqueror's Cup will use the following format: - 61 total games - 20 doubles - 20 triples - 20 quads - Each clan member can only participate in 20 games per clan war - The 61st game will be Trips on Classic, sunny, chained, no spoils (does not count toward player game maximum) The finals of the Conqueror's Cup will use the following format: - 60 total games - 20 doubles - 20 triples - 20 quads - Each clan member can only participate in 20 games per clan war -In case of a tie, there will be a 7 game tie breaker with each clan choosing three games of any game type and settings. The last game will be Trips on Random, sunny, chained, no spoils. -Any players can play in the tie-breaker games in the finals even if they have already played in their allotted number of games for that clan war, however, no player can play in more than 2 of the games. Maps cannot be reused in the tie breaker games. As has been allowed in the past, each clan war can adjust the rules slightly to their liking if both clans agree on the adjusted rules before any games are started and they get the CD's approval. This ability to adjust rules only applies to individual war settings not to overall rules of the Cup. By way of example, clans may not increase the number of games in their match, increase the number of sets in their match, violate the Cup-Tied Rule, etc. Threads and Game Exchanges Once a match has been decided, the TO will send the contacts for the next match a pm with guidance on thread responsibilities and deadlines for game exchanges. The next match will start no earlier than 2 weeks from this private message. The private message will encourage the clans to discuss terms privately prior to setting up the thread. However, if terms are not agreed to or the other clan is nonresponsive, it is the higher ranked clans responsibility to set up the thread with the default rules, with any agreed upon additions, within one week of the scheduled start of the war. At this point the negotiations can be finalized in public and TO intervention provided if necessary. The deadlines for game exchanges may be changed only with permission of the TO, unless the clans agree to do them faster. In 41 game wars the 1st batch will consist of (3D/3T/4Q+TB) and the 2nd batch will consist of (3D/4T/3Q) for each side and the batches will be 2 weeks apart. In 61 game wars the 1st batch will consist of (3D/3T/4Q+TB), the 2nd batch will consist of (3D/3T/4Q), and the 3rd batch will consist of (4D/4T/2Q) for each side and the batches will be 2 weeks apart. The finals will follow the same schedule as the 61 game wars but there will be no tiebreaker game exchanged during the course of the war.Settings Default Rules -Only game types allowed are "Teams". -Automatic initial troops only. -All games must be sequential. -All spoils, except zombie spoils*, are allowed. -All forts, except "no forts", are allowed. -There will be no round limits, unless otherwise noted. -Trench is permitted in a maximum of 20% of home games (Any trench game must have a 30 round limit). -Each map can only be used twice per clan per clan war but can only be used once per game type (i.e. once for triples and once for quads). -No speed. -Each clan will pick the map and settings for exactly half of the games. -12 Hour Fog Rule will not be enforced unless agreed upon by both clans (TO will not enforce any penalties for violations). -New settings that are implemented after the start of the Cup will be excluded from wars unless agreed to by clans on an individual war basis and approved by the TO, as provided the Clan Wars section above. *Zombie spoils may be included if both clans agree.
show: Miscellaneous
Miscellaneous Any abuse should be brought to the attention of the TO immediately. Deliberately timing out in Escalating and Nuclear games to avoid taking a spoil will not be tolerated by any players. This is not a common occurrence and we do not expect to see it happen at all but a rule should be in place to prevent abuse. The first time a clan breaks this rule in the Cup the game must be re-made. [Unless other clan wants game to stand] Each subsequent violation during the Cup will result in a forfeit of the game.Decisions of the TO are final. Clans submitting entry to the cup are deemed to have agreed to the rules.
show: Organization
For each clan war, the higher ranked clan will setup a thread to run that particular match. PLEASE PUT "[CC5]" (STANDS FOR CONQUEROR'S CUP 5) AT THE BEGINNING OF THE TITLE FOR EACH CLAN WAR. All games should be created using gaming privileges for each clan war. All game links should be kept up in the thread created for that clan match. If someone feels a player has violated the number of games they are allowed to participate in, please bring it to the CD's attention. If they are found in violation, the opposing team will get to pick any games that the offending player was in from the last batch played equal to the number of games the went over the limit to restart without that player participating. When games are sent, they must already be created by the home team. The home team will then have 48 hours to fully invite its players. The away clan will then have 48 hours to fill all the games. [Example: Sunday night exchange. Fully invited by home clan by Tuesday night. Fully invited by away clan by Thursday night.] If your opponent is late on either sending/joining home games or joining games please notify the CD's immediately. There will be some leniency on running late, we will work out a date with the clans involved and set a date that games must be sent/joined by. If a clan is still late in sending/joining home games or joining games they will forfeit 1 game per day late. The opposing team will choose which game they forfeit from the batch of games in question (i.e. if a clan sends their home games 1 day late, the opposing team will choose one of those games the late clan forfeits once they receive them). The CD's will be checking the forums for every clan match to make sure they are being kept up properly, sent and joined on time, and the playing rules are being upheld. However, if any clan feels their opponents have broken a rule they should bring it to our attention immediately.
