Was a keen football supporter as a lad but lost all interest once 'continental' players (Europeans, esp Italians/Spanish) started playing in the English leagues and introduced us to diving (aka cheating). I now find the women's game far more honest.
Best approach? Review the simulation - we easily have that technology - and ban a player for 5 games. On the salaries they're on their managers would soon call a stop to it!
Diving is certainly an issue in modern football and shoul be punished more harshly, but i think thats not really the main thing about the popularity it has on the States, more they liking their own sports.
However this is clearly nonsense. Brits used to dive long ago, Franny lee for instance, Also germans used to do it a lot Klinsmann for instance. Accusing Italians and spanish for bring it up its not really all fair.
Also some of the best players that have played in the prem are foraigners, Henry, Cantona, Silva, Agüero, Ronaldo, etc.
Therefore some of the best football its really owed to foreing players.
