Wow. A 16 round dubs game must have been one hell of a battle.

Comsidering Rodion was taken out in round 5... what a hell of a comeback!

It was a colossal battle, but it wasn't exactly a comeback. When we eliminated Rodion, which was our only chance at the win at that point in the game, pogue was holding a +3 bonus and had enough lands to drop 8. So yes, it was 2v1 for four and a half rounds, but pogue was bringing in more troops each turn than we were combined. Mepps and I knew it was not going to be easy to even it up, let alone win. Pogue held us off and eventually eliminated me to make it 1v1, and even though we had broken his bonus, we could never get his territory count lower than 17. Overall, it was a great game.

It's 15-16 right now.

But it it looks like it will be 18-18 before the 4 undecided games come into play.

I'm counting:

D-Day as a loss Game 8293276
Senate as a loss Game 8293313
Iberia as a win Game 8295313
P-Rome as a win Game 8295318
Rail Quads as a win Game 8295307

So it looks to me like it will be 18-18 with Vancouver, Gazala, Hive, and Rail Trips undecided.

Really good to see this coming back level, every chance THOTA can pull it out of the bag in round 3, but out of the ones you've listed as undecided, Hive looks a certain win for the cows. Sorry, Commander, but the cows have got both the milk and the honey on this occasion.

It actually brings me out in hives.

The Monkis have picked it in our CL 1/4 Final and muggins here is going to play it (coz no other bugger is daft enough) even though it freezes my PC when I load it, thus I have to hijack my lad's 21st century model.

I expect to get stung!

Oh, and nice comeback ponies. It's Chinese New Year here so I was celebrating anyway (in case you can't tell I'm already half cut), but this is definitely worthy of raising a glass or eight.

Pogue held us off and eventually eliminated me to make it 1v1, and even though we had broken his bonus, we could never get his territory count lower than 17. Overall, it was a great game.

We had a great drop with real possibilities of taking Egypt/Arabia/Bactria without even needing to kill a teammate. Drop was even better for us considering Israel and Palestinian was a neutral. Dice were not really kind in the beggining and THOTA started the 4th round with a +6 army differential (+9 after they deployed). The "comeback" happened in round 4 when pogue rolled 12-1 to take Egypt bonus. Mepps and keyborn then started killing me, but I was alive in 3 chained places. Pogue used most of his drop to protect me and also spent his stack taking several territories. Keyborn then won 8 v 2,2,6 to eliminate me. He was also able to fort 2 from that stack to Mepps, meaning he rolled 10-2. Mepps took some territories from pogue, but he still held the bonus. It was an interesting fight. Keyborn took Pakistan from Mepps for Bactria bonus in round 6 and Mepps used his stack of (probably) 9 (maybe 8, but 9 is my bet) to kill 1 from keyborn, then another from keyborn, then 3 neutral (Israel and Palestinian) and 1 from Sinai to break pogue's bonus - he lost 1 army doing all that (or 0, in the unlikely scenario that he started with an 8 from Izmir - so, 6-1 or 6-0). The good thing is pogue had 20 regions after he lost his bonus, so he was able to keep fighting without it. The battle continued and the rest is history.

It was a great game, albeit anguishing with the streaky dice going back and forth between team 1 and team 2. I was afraid that pogue would never be able to get back on his feet in case they managed to break his bonus and drop him below 18 territories, but luckily that never happened.
