One of the main points of divisions smaller than 8 (but greater than 4), It gives all clans in the division a more balanced competitive field. Almost every year, the bottom clans in Premier division are outmatched by the majority of their opponents. One could imagine that for many clans, being on the bottom of a division of 8+ clans has not made an enjoyable competition. There have even been instances in the past where clans placed in Premier division have requested to be switched to Second Division because they didn't think it would be enjoyable to face the challenging competition.
Similarly, often clans on the top end of Second division do not find it fulfilling to compete against lower ranked clans.
A system of smaller divisions (ideally with 3+ divisions) can create an environment where all clans are competing on a more level field, yielding more Net enjoyment for the clans involved. It can also create even more movement between divisions (which would presumably be more fun and interesting) than currently where we typically have the same clans moving back and forward between Premier and Second divisions.
I outlined examples here:
Original Concept and Proposal of Smaller Divisions

The CD Team welcomes constructive conversation on this or any other Clan topic.
However it would be most appropriate to do it in a new thread.
