- show: introduction
- For many years it was our monthly newsletter PM'd to all of our members, keeping us up to date with all the exciting events, changes to the mod team, tools and extras that CC had to offer.
Over the years with declining membership there has been little interest in producing and maintaining a newsletter. But we are hoping someone out there wants to take the reigns and restore the CC Dispatch to its old glory days.
You can still see all our old editions here https://www.conquerclub.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=430
Interested in running the Dispatch? or just being a reporter/editor? Shoot TeeGee a private message.. Yes, there will be perks for contributors of future editions
Are You New Here?
- show: information for new users
- WHOA!!! Who opened the floodgates? We started 2020 with a little over 5,000 active users. As of today we have just passed 15,000 active users. We do realise and understand a vast majority here is due to the lockdown that most of the world is under. Many retired players have come back, but we have many, many new users. What is the best way to learn our game? We have a great team called the Society of Cooks. They will help you learn the basics and try to assist you with any questions you may have. You can find them here https://www.conquerclub.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=341
A run down on the game itself (instructions) is available here https://www.conquerclub.com/public.php?mode=instructions2 Don't forget to click on the tabs at the top of the page to get further details
Or Are You A Returning Veteran? Barterer2002 -- a Homecoming Story
- show: Barts story
- So I’m barterer2002. I joined. Cc back in 2007. I had separated in 2005 and was home by myself a lot CC was a good outlet for me. I made some good friends, Many in the old G1 clan and many outside of the clan. I loved the tournament world. I liked interesting tournaments. I was the first CC member to run 100 tournaments to completion. I even started the TPA. Back in the day a 16 player 1 on 1 tournament would fill up in 2-3 hours. A 100 player more complicated tournament might take a week. I think at my high point I would have 90-100 games playing at a time.
In late 2011 I remarried and. In 2012 began a new job learning a new career. I just didn’t have the time and so I left. I kept up with some of the guys on Facebook but not all of them. I miss those who I don’t have contacts any more.
Over the past 8 years I’ve become a youth leader at my church and my kids like to play risk. So this year, at the end of one of our games we were talking about playing more often and I suggested CC, so we came back, for the kids. And I got a 3 month premium so I could start games. The kids didn’t like it. Too remote, but I found I still enjoy it. So I played. I keep my game load down under 20. In October I thought about starting a tournament. It was the 13th anniversary of my first tournament. But October and November are busy at work for me and I wanted to be sure if I was going to do it I was going to stay.
So I played some people, I played some bots. I discovered the bots aren’t very good at the game. I learned about things that weren’t here when I played like Trench, Polymorphic, Nuclear, And Zombie. I tried some new maps and I found the automated tournaments. Some are fun. I like Map Masters. Some I don’t really understand the point (like quest for the stars. I don’t really understand these stars I think).
I went back to the tournament forums, found Darin44 was still kicking out tournaments so I joined one, Then another. Then I decided it was time to run one again so I revived the old Championship Series. I’ve been a bit surprised at how long it takes to fill even a simple tournament. Is it me? Maybe some. People don’t know me like they used to but even steady organizers take longer so that’s not entirely it. Is it the auto tournaments. Probably some. There are likely people that can figure out how those work easily and never move past. And some others who never want to worry about the capriciously absent organizer. Is it CC itself. Well there are fewer users at this point and there is always a smaller subset of those who arrive at the forums. Truthfully though it’s likely a combination of all these factors.
I don’t have any plans to revive G1 or bring back any of the old crew although I will mention that you asked about them. They are all living their lives. Optimus And Luxurious’ children are closing in on their teen years. Gilligan is married so are Serbia and Trippy. They have their own full lives and if they stop in occasionally, and some do, it’s more of a remembrance than a craving.
As for my occupation. Back in 2008 I went away for a week and had a sitter. (Bones2484). He changed the occupation and it appealed to my deprecating sense of humor enough that I never changed it. Besides. My legs look good in a tutu. If a bit unshaven.
I suppose I’ve rambled a bit here. Enjoy being back. I think I’ll stay awhile.

Greetings Chatters
MODERATION TEAM CHANGES
As some may have noticed, there has been an addition to the Chat Team from a returning Mod to the site in the name of *Pixar*
After a few years of self isolation, *Pixar* has returned to CC and once again has offered his free time to help us all out.
Feel free to contact him or any of the other Chat Mods with your chat queries or concerns via PM anytime.
There is still some gaps in our chat Coverage, so I am still open for taking on 1 more Moderator into the team.
If you feel you have what it takes to become a Chat Mod, PM Razorvich to express your interest.
PLEASE RESPECT EACH OTHERS VIEWS IN GLOBAL
Please remember that Global Chat is automated, it cannot be erased, edited or restarted without the Head-Goats intervention.
So your chat can sometimes be seen by all for many hours.
With the current uptake of new members, PLEASE BE CONSIDERATE. It is all our interests to keep members, not scare them
off with some off the cuff remark that may be taken the wrong way.

- Third-Party Tools & Userscripts
You might have heard of BOB or other third-party userscripts on this site and you might have heard of Greasemonkey before. The Third-party userscripts creation has been on a decline on this site and not so many new scripts have appeared as of lately. I as head of tech have mostly tried to maintain the ones that I feel bring unique features that are useful. There is a full list of scripts that I as a volunteer for conquer club keeps updated that can be found at http://tools.conquerclub.com all tested and should be working on chrome with the extension tampermonkey (should support all browsers running tampermonkey extension)
if you are interested in getting started using some of the third-party userscripts here is a guide.
Step 1: Tampermonkey
start by downloading Tampermonkey at http://tampermonkey.net and add it to your browser.
Step 2: Install a userscript
Find a userscript that you want for conquerclub either in the forums or at tools.conquerclub.com or create your own userscript. In this guide we will use a userscript that I wrote just for this that will greatly enhance how other people perceive you on conquerclub.
Step 3: Test if it's working
Go to your inbox on the left side and create a new PM and add TeeGee as recipient. Write a nice long message and mark your text and press the new button that says rainbow to add a new bbcode [rainbow]Your message here[/rainbow] and press submit and your message will be greatly appreciated by TeeGee if you have added the magical text effect!
Tech team out!
