*fixed.

Also, dark mode reduces blue light exposure, eye strain and power consumption.

Should you use firefox and install Dark Reader add-on? Yes you should. The only problem is the emojis all have white backgrounds, ruining everything.

Say no to Chrome!

Sadly, as much as I hate Chrome, I've found it's the only way to play CC. In FF, I get a lot more lag, to the point that I want to give up on CC entirely.

Well, that's not a real problem anymore. Microsoft Edge is now based on Chrome (because they were sick of compatibility issues) so there are options (although really Chrome is based on blink, which was originally Safari code). Even Opera is based on Chrome code now. You could also try Chromium, the open-source base version for Chrome. Although, if you use any of the advanced Google features, they will be lost.

Firefox is the last true browser. Viva forever Netscape Navigator!

That being said, I rarely play games here so I don't experience any lag. Firefox does run into problems some times, since it no longer supports Java.

Sorry I will disappoint you... This can not be implemented, regardless of how much people want it implemented. The issue is that the architecture of the site is 20+ years old and the frontend HTML and CSS code is embedded into the serverside PHP code.
The frontend design should have been separated a decade ago, but this has never been done.

Apologies one more time.

Then explain Global Chat. A similar theme for the whole site would suit me.
There's an overwhelming majority of pro votes so now make it happen. Please :)

Global Chat is basically embedded web page within a web page(CC main site). They coexist literally independent of each other.

Anyway if you guys want it go ahead, but it will be time consuming to be implemented.

Need some more input here as there are different ways of treating this suggestion - Dark Theme for CC game pages only , forums only, or both.

From initial inspection, the relatively easiest is CC game pages because we have more control over the configuration than the forums which are 3rd party software.

It would be good to hear if people had a preference to speed up any potential solution.

  • CC Game Pages only (Fastest)
  • Forums only (Slower)
  • CC Game Pages and Forums (Slowest)

If this were to be implemented, it would be iterative as we expect there to be some impact in unexpected places and it would be provided as an option and not a default.

Personally I'm thinking forums only.

Wouldn't dark theme mess up the colours and appearance of the maps. I don't think that would go over very well.

I'd like dim/dark theme for Game page, if it doesn't mess up colours and appearance of the maps.
