Acknowledge Paralympians too

In future, the site should celebrate the Paralympics

Specifics/Details:
I know that this suggestion touched a few members other than myself when I pointed out the snub that CC gave to the Paralympics. I feel that the Paralympics deserves a basic degree of respect.

How this will benefit the site and/or other comments:

I don't think that the site should celebrate the Olympics while treating the Paralympics as second-class.

I don't think it's treated as second class. Every year there are many events / historical dates that pass that nothing special is done on. There is only so much time to put into events by the team and not every thing is going to be focused on or have someone passionate about the project.

The Olympics and Paralympics are pretty much inseperable- one follows the other and they use the same stadia, grounds, and courses. It's generally treated as second class, which is, I think, unfair.

I think of the games as a whole, so it's not really a case of an historical date going unacknowledged, if I understand your argument correctly. It's more a case of fully recognising all of the Games and the athletes who compete in them, rather than taking a half measure and ignoring Paralympiana.

This issue goes beyond CC. When was the last time you caught a broadcast of the Paralympics?

CC can only do so much. Having an event that focuses on the olympics is just fine and probably the maximum they can do. Should membership return to previous levels, or a willing volunteer step up, I'm sure things could change. Feel free to volunteer. Oh wait, you don't want to.

For background, in the uk the paralympic coverage is pretty damn good and is mot far off what we get for the olympics.

Symm is in the uk. So that snub wont work, we all did watch the parallympics.

I "caught" the Paralympics last time they happened, mate, and the time before that in 2012.

More accurately, I watched them, supported them, and will do so in future. Will you?
