New game-type "Duel" with modified income troops checker

Concise description:
  • New game type - Duels - only 2 players allowed - the difference with the standard game is - Calculation on how much troops a player will get done on the start of the round, rather than player's turn.

Specifics/Details:
  • This is meant specifically for 1vs1 matches. As you all know, they are entirely unbalanced because whoever plays first gets an extra bonus and destroys the income of his opponent. By 'saving' the income at the beginning of the round, it will be more fair for the 2nd player. He might even get a smaller advantage, this is yet to be seen practically, although it is certainly a much smaller one than the advantage of the first player in the current situation.

How this will benefit the site and/or other comments:
  • Fair duels, imagine the implications, whole tournaments and showdowns can be made.

it seems totally unballanced.
say you are player 1 starting first I am player 2, on a map with 12 terts each. you drop 4, take me 2 regions, I drop 3 take 1 region and get a bonus +2. no matter what i will get the troops from the bonus when I start my next turn. So you start your turn, drop 4, break my bonus, I start my turn, drop 5 take the bonus back and so on.
This doesn't ballance the game, it's just a game mode where starting second gives you a big advantage.

The first player still has the option to improve his defenses with his first turn, that's why the advantage is 'smaller', because the 2nd player needs to be lucky with the dice, while in the current situation there is no escaping the advantage made in the first round for the first turn player.

But there is a big fault with this indeed that you noticed - the certainty of 2nd player for his bonus in the end of the round, that's a big problem.
A deal breaker probably.

We've looked at options such as this back into 2013, and were ready to implement them. However, a poll was released, gained lots of negative feedback, and there was no sense in implementing it since the poll alone had so much negativity, not to mention the concept itself when in play.
