New Map Idea

Postby Smiths Falls on Mon Dec 01, 2014 1:11 pm

hey I have an idea for a new map (if it has already been suggested I apologize as I could not find this anywhere).
What about taking the "classic" map and having 5 of them (or 4 or 6...) all side by side. Map 1's magaden could attach to map 2's anchorage and so on until the last map's magaden attaches to map 1's anchorage.
This could make for some interesting play. And everybody loves classic this would be fun.

I have thought that having a map interplay with other maps would be cool.
Your main page (home world) would be a map, then when you exit the region it would take you to another map (page) board.

Umpteen number of map boards, allowing player to fight for a home world. Once you have secured (eliminated every player) the game board it becomes your home world, allowing you to explore other game boards...same game boards that the other home worlds will be exploring once players secure their own home world.
Exploring different maps with all the different variety of CC gamel options.

I remember this being suggested ages ago when I was a Suggestion Mod. Don't remember it getting much traction though. I thought it was a cool idea though.

I think some maps have obvious entry and exit points - either on the edge (like classic) or a key territory (siege, 8 thoughts) - but where would you start on something like Circus Maximus?

Hmm, missed it when it was first suggested, 'cause it's absolutely genius. We have 200+ maps and inspiration is running out (don't let the Foundry hear me), so we'll connect the Classic map five times. It's brilliant in its simplicity. I hope you understand that this is never gonna happen, but I like your thinking.

Settings can always be restricted- or we can go in and define it for each map individually with some input from Foundry peeps.

If TFO thinks its cool, then it definitely needs to be implemented. Glad to see you back around!
