Concise description:
  • Update the current Strategy Guide to include more maps, especially more difficult and NEW maps that members may actually need help with.

Specifics/Details:
  • Perhaps enlist people involved with this prior or those involved with the foundry or SOC to continue updating the Strategy Guide

How this will benefit the site and/or other comments:
  • People may actually branch out on new maps if some sort of Strat Guide existed for them.

Current Strategy Guide
Subject: Complete A-Z List of official strategy guides

gimil wrote:Below is a complete list of all official, strategy guides created by the strategy ad-hoc group. These guide have been created for the purpose of helping the average new player get to grips with different maps and settings. It should be noted that these are not guides that will result in a best fit approach to any strategy. They are purely intened to help give a foot hold in understanding basic strategy in particular maps ands settings so that the player can learn and evolve their own strategic thinking in their own way for their own purpose.

i for one have been playing Random Poly and Random Team games as of late, in an effort to maintain some interest in CC... However, playing random, the most obscure maps pop up, maps i have never seen and maps i have no idea how to play. often, the map legends are pretty much zero help and require you to make a mistake before you can understand what it is they are "trying" to say. i think if the site continues with the ongoing glut of maps, an effort should be made to update the strategy guide. maybe this is something that could run along with the creation of the maps, moving forward. anyway, just throwing wet wads of toilet paper at the CC cafeteria roof, hoping something sticks...-Jésus noir

Maybe you should take your own advice?

Or maybe you could rethink your position on unrated games, and if it were implemented, you could use it to develop your own strategy for these maps?

see, i'm not whining about losing points and i enjoy seeing the new maps and playing them... but i play RANDOM, so i never know when i'll see them again... i like learning them, don't care about the point loss, but would love it if the STRATEGY GUIDE was just a bit more up to date with maps. and again, i've been dropping and rising 3 ranks on the reg for quite some time. i don't care about the points or the rank and am firm in the belief that unranked games would be more detrimental to the site than helpful. it would just be nice to be able to go to the STRATEGY GUIDE for a quick answer... soooo, think you missed the point... actually, you missed the point of my post completely... i don't see anyone in that thread asking for the STRATEGY GUIDE to be updated and my stating to "suck it up and lose some damn points and rank." just didn't happen... but do carry on, i find it cute... all i'm asking for is that CC update a section of the forum that already exists... the black jesus has spoken... the black jesus has owned you, again...-Jésus noir

@Maowenshooter: maybe you should stick with the basics, some people can't grasp the obvious as well as others might, it is OK, keep trying buddy.
Updating the strategy guide will just confuse you even more than you already are, stick with the basics, don't try to move too fast, you are not ready for the more advanced strategies.
Keep it basic, maybe in a few more years you will be ready for the more advanced maps.
I will mentor you, come join the games I have set up, I will let you win the first two games if you like...then you can boast that you beat Gweed the great.

i don't know if i could handle the non-stop alerts on my wall and inbox from you about turns being able to be played in those games... and i'm sorry, but i don't see how asking for something that already exists to be updated is THAT revolutionary.. talk about thinking outside of the box!! WHEW!!! minds are being blown!!-Jésus noir

Anyone is welcome to write Strategy Guides. The project died for lack of volunteers and no other reason. If volunteers step forward and write more strategy guides, we will revive it.
