Add some color to the swords

Postby elonpuckhog on Tue Aug 12, 2014 2:48 pm

Concise description:
  • Add a little bit of color (red for premium or blue for freemium) to the sword (major) rank so it is easier to tell the difference

Specifics/Details:
  • For most of the other ranks, it is easy to tell if the player is a freemium or premium member. For majors, it can be an impossible task (for me) if they are freemium or premium. If we could add a little color somewhere, I could tell a lot faster. I use this primarily for tournies as most of my tournies are premium only.

How this will benefit the site and/or other comments:
  • Players will be able to distinguish between freemium majors and premium major ranked players.

Actually, it was exactly what she said.

The above was more helpful, informative and intuitive than this suggestion, as declared by the official beverage society.

- I'll give You a straight out I agree with You Elonpuckhog,, The sword and scabbard are a bit bland and hard to tell between pre- and free,, Either enhance the gold or My suggestion would be to make just the scabbard Red or Blue,, leave the sword silver, not gold ( more real ),, freemy's would have both silver. Again, I agree.

First off.. If you can't tell the difference, why do you care if the premi sword is gold or silver? Second, making it silver for premis would be very annoying to us who CAN tell the difference easily, so let's not do that. Every other premi rank has gold, so it wouldn't make sense to just have one that was silver.

He never suggested making the premium one silver?

He suggested keeping their current colours and just adding a bit of red / blue to premium / freemium respectively...

Good suggestion.

While i disagree that it's too hard to tell the difference, Red/Blue on the hilts would
1) fix the OP's concern
2) probably look better than the unicolor we have currently
3) be more uniform to the other rank symbols because they do have mixed coloration
4) Look more like a sword: Few swords have the blade hilt look exactly like the blade metal

@jammyjames: magnus suggested making all silver which I don't recommend. Nothing wrong with a decorative blade, but I still think that making the hilts red/blue with a spiral wrap of the silver/gold to match the blade would work well

Adding red/blue to the hilts might look better, but judging from most of the CC graphics being produced these days I wouldn't count on it.

Cool, demonfork, I never realized that was a baton. I thought it was a sheath.

I suggested keeping the sword silver and changing the "baton" to red or blue, just to be clear. Actually, the blade silver the hilt gold and baton red or blue.

Can't we just paint all CC member symbols Bright Pink and the nonmember symbols Dark Blue? This way, everyone can clearly distinguish between who's 'in' and who's 'out'. The ensuing ruckus of complaints would be worth it.

regardless of what it is or isn't, let's get this DONE. i am sure if CC puts all effort into this endeavor, they may not recover the 10K+ they have left, but they can at least get back 8K... this one change will do it... BOom!!-eJn
